Where al gore lives doesn't effect water levels. Warmer sea temperatures and melting ice caps do. This is measurable.

Only last week they quietly took down gone in 2020 signs in a glacier park because the big melt isn’t happening.

    That's called the weather.
    Different thing to climate.

    FYI

Rulers, thermometers and other measuring devices don't change because of where Al Gore lives.

    Weather= local
    Climate change = global.

Just because our tiny little island is a little colder than usual doesn't mean climate change isn't happening.

Here's a nice wee graph for you.

Sea levels are rising this is well established.

It is well established that the rise is negligible and way less than what was predicted.

Portraying it as if it's some nefarious organisation is pretty misrepresentative. Also I'm pretty happy for the great work that Sutherland did during his lifetime.

Was it his "great work" undermining national sovereignty in Europe and beyond that you admire?

If Al Gore the climate whore buys 3 seaside properties it doesn’t make a difference where he lives but I’m sure you already figured that out. You do know that the beach is beside the ocean?

Weather is local? So if it’s raining and not local to you what’s that called?

Weather is short term, climate is measured in 30 years cycles in a given area.

Meanwhile, local climate change events have been happening for centuries, the local climate in any major city is nothing like what it was before the city was built. For example temperatures are significantly higher during the days that they used to be. The changes to the landscape mean that flood patterns are very different, some cities have even changed the rainfall patterns due to the high rise buildings interrupting the flow of rain clouds.

The problems arise when you add up all the figures from these local "climate events" and generate a global chart, it will indeed produce a rise.

Now try to produce the same data by using only sensors located in areas that have not been "terraformed" by human activity, any rise will be considerably smaller.

Almost no flooding issues are caused by climate change. Such issues are generally caused by human populations increasing in flood plains. If you live in a flood plain, disaster is going to happen.

    Ocean view, seaside then beach.
His house keeps moving closer to the water in these posts.
One could have a view of the sea and still be quite high up.

Going greener is not going to reduce flooding. The main cause of increased issues with flooding in recent decades is massive increases in populations living in flood plains.

The entire country of the Netherlands is a flood plain, beit because of Nimby ism or just government laziness, we don't deal properly with flooding here, many towns and cities need big walls and dams erected

No insurance company would insure beach side properties if their destruction is imminent.

And no bank would give coastal cities 30-40 year mortgages for houses and developments either. They obviously know that it’s all lies.

Climate hasn't changed here in Ireland last 60 years; the country still looks the same today. I never believe anything i hear from any politician or journalist and any so-called expert has a completely loaded agenda.

Hey, us climate change "deniers" don't deny that the climate is changing, that's a fact .... it's just that we don't believe that man is 100% responsible. I/we believe that the climate is changing as per the natural cycle of the planet, (accelerated no doubt by human activity), but not exclusively caused by humans.

This theory was held by David Bellamy, hence he's now an outcast by the BBC because he doesn't toe the line.

Really, is that why they have to check out every borrowers repayment capacity and get security on loans. Not much hope of recovering their losses with a property under water.

Hurrr durrr the banks are giving loans to seaside towns and there was hailstones in Ballybunion the other day and Al Gore was seen riding on an aeroplane and the Greta Tormundsen girl has the autism so its all lies! Hurrr durr Im a boards.ie climate expert...

Were you expecting a desert or a swamp? Ireland is one of the last places that climate change will effect greatly due to our latitude and position on the edge of a landmass.

The Arctic on the other hand....

Climate Change cannot be taken seriously until the Superwealthy and Wealthy put their hands in their pockets .

Do nothing in your own life until you see clear evidence of them spending their own money .

If you don't believe experts in their field, who exactly do you believe about anything?

Those people will do nothing that will reduce their wealth gathering programmes. The only measures that are being allowed, are in fact financially benefitting them with the sales of "green" products. Reducing waste and excessive consumerism would not benefit them so it will not be done.
