So at the top of your post in edit mode, you'll see [ quote="DBB;xxxxxxxxxxx ]
Delete this, including the brackets.

Then at the end of your post, you'll see [ /quote].... delete this too, including the brackets.

Am I ready?

So haven't really been posting updates here but feel I should this week for some reason as I'm always reading. Anyway my marathon story is a bit all over the place. Signed up for my first marathon as a 40th birthday present to myself. Started running in April but then stopped as my ankle was sore. Had a couple of runs in August and started running in earnest at the start of September to see if I could still manage it or should I pack it in. Training was mostly the plan on the Kbc twitter page, only changed to suit my own lengths as I was well behind. Since then it went really well until it caught up with me two weeks ago and my hip started to niggle (stupidly I was running the LSRs too fast). Anyway long story short, it's not sore enough to stop me running but dunno what it will be like at 20 miles. Physio says I shouldn't be too worried as it's a muscular issue. I have run 22 miles in training but without a sore hip so not sure how it's gonna go. All going well I would be disappointed if I'm not in in under 4hrs as I think that's achievable for me.

Now a question... I'm in wave 4 which doesn't suit. Not too bothered as I want to run my own race anyway but when do I start my stopwatch? When I cross the line or when I hear a gun?

Finally a thank you to all the mods/leaders for this thread. A really useful resource for so many. It would interesting to know how many 1st timers are running actually.

Just wishing everyone "all the very best" for their DCM Day. Certainly looks at this stage that there will be perfect weather for Sunday with dry, cool (cold for some initially) and fairly calm conditions forecast.

Don't think I can get 4:30

Just re-reading my 2015 race report and realised I've got more or less the same plan (even though it didn't work out the last time)

I'm planning on going out with the 4:40 pacers for the first 7 or 8 miles and then try to push on a bit and hope the legs don't fail me again like last time.
