Maybe, but tbh the performance of the dealer in cork so far was disappointing.

Just had a quick look at the 1st Plus at garage. Unfortunately was locked up until later/tomorrow.

First impressions (My first sight of the ID.3. Was out of country for viewing last year)

Its bigger looking than I expected.
The white looks well. (Though couldn't see any metallic sparkle like Tesla)
    The wheels (19") look big.

I was paying much the same on the Leaf which had 17" wheels.
Tyres are a personal choice thing really... if you want to go cheap and say hello to a few ditches you can get cheaper ones! :)

For anyone interested my mum is getting the ID charger installed by bord gais. She got the "remote pre check" today which is basically a text asking for a bunch of pictures

    Private front garden
    Position for charger
    Position of fuse box
    Internal details of fuse box
    Electric meter and surrounds
    Gas meter and surrounds
    Mains water cut off

Bit worried that they need the gas and water shut off, I think they might be a tad confused as to what they're installing :D

I'm sure it's just precautions though, she said that there'll be a phone call in a few days to confirm everything

Just a few things as I drive it I’ll post up a few comments.

Very good seating position and those small individual armrests are brilliant. If you’re like me and drive with elbows on armrest and door you can get very comfy.

The haptics on the steering wheels which I was most afraid off are perfect, great feedback and the pad does move when you touch it.

Very good quality sound from the speakers too.

Love the position of the gear selection, and for some reason the centre section doesn’t feel bare at all.

The light switches we won’t need to be touched are on the left behind the wheel between it and the radio.

All good. It’s a lot better than I expected. Edit. I should say I had high expectations

I was parked up! I’m posting as I stop as I’ll easily forget.

Like it has a Black roof cloth, which makes the interior very nice.

Interesting, expected them to be over €150 each. One thing I never go cheap on..

Maybe, but tbh the performance of the dealer in cork so far was disappointing.

Blackwater Motors in Fermoy has one as far as I know.

Just a few quick pictures taken today. Looks good and good quality.

How did you find the seats on the 1st? Most so far seem to have tested the Plus.

I was only in the car for a few minutes but I found the seat fine with good support. I’ve a high line golf now with leather so the seat support was something I was concerned about, but I’m happy with them. I was pleasantly surprised with the car tbh inside and out.

I honestly can’t see why reviewers were saying the interior was this and that.

I don’t notice any difference really from any other Vw interior, and it’s leagues and leagues ahead of a Kona.

To be fair the piano black would probably annoy me long term, I’ve Greasy/oily fingers anyway.

I got my test drive in Drogheda this morning.

Has anybody got a definitive delivery date, my dealer was very casual about it saying next week once and then mid September . I don't think he knew any more than I did.

I see some of the other entry 1st have Bridgestone Turanza tyres.
A few dealers now have pics up on Carzone. They all seem good tyres anyway.
perhaps Goodyear a little better in the wet according to specs.

My car has arrived at the dealers today. Spoke to him about the we connect ID app. He sent me a mini 30 second video of it about an hour ago.
Also informed me that the APR rate is going to be reduced tomorrow to 1.9%
    I want it NOW!!

Thats good. Are you buying plus or base? Vw used to have a bias towards more expensive trims which had lower apr.

With 1.9% i may change to plus now. Wonder if that is possible now? I imagine they have few not sold yet?

Are you getting the VAT reduction and the 1.9%?

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,838 ✭✭✭rx8

Yeah, It's the Plus version. Vat reduction confirmed today aswell.
I wonder if he'd let me have it tomorrow !! ;)

Oh man, at 1.9% I probably could have afforded the ID.3 and wouldn't have to wait :(

Although I'm excited about the ID.4 now...

Makes sense now, the girl doing my finance today could not figure out why the computer kept calculating at 1.9%.

1.9%, 3 months free, 2% vat reduction, €600 worth of free charging at Ionity and a pretty decent car.

    But best of all...free socks

    Typical vw

Typical is right! It started with 4.9% then went to 3.9% now 1.9%
Not that I’m complaining but what are VW up to?
I’m sure a hell of a lot of people would have opted for the plus or max if this rate was given when ordering

Is it 1.9% for everyone now, makes little sense to tie up cash in it at that rate, any idea of the future value?
