To be fair Red/White were always only just free in Ireland. The were a cost option everywhere else.

Urano Grey was always the base colour, and it’s a terrible colour.
You will accept that it would be easier to get it looking good when the car is older as it hides chips. a bit of compound and a polish and it should look fairly good, especially if the interiors remain as hard wearing as they were in the past.

  • Registered Users Posts: 23,694 ✭✭✭✭L-M

Absolutely not. It’s a horrendous colour to show up marks and chips and every kinda of bush mark.

I collected a car in that colour today from the body shop after getting a bumper painted and compound and it nearly looked worse. It’s a god awful colour. In my years selling Vw I’ve never once let a customer buy it.

Rant over, long and short, stay away from Urano Grey.

Moonstone should be different as it’s a “Premium” non Metallic. What ever that means

Most Detailers like Greys, Silvers and Champagne Golds.

It's nearly the nicest color, looks a lot better when it's in natural light.

So this would be a pretty ok colour to maintain which is good news.

So that's what the headlights look like when they're not matrix LED?

Does that mean the don't do the winking/hello thing...?.

To be honest. that kind of gimmick thing does nothing for me.

Not at 7k anyways. You'd think they'd like all the 1st to look as good as possible though. The entry level interior looks easier to keep if you've kids. I can see them destroying those fawn colored ones in no time.
The door pillar colours are seen on the inside, it's another thing steering me towards the moonstone as it should blend well with the interior.

  • Registered Users Posts: 23,694 ✭✭✭✭L-M

I’d say you couldn’t go wrong with Moonstone, if you don’t want white or the Makenna.

I’ve seen it before on Passat’s and it looks very well with Black trims, so the black roof will set it off nicely.

The Manganese Grey is available on Passat and could be a very conservative choice.

I'm not a great fan of white cars and have described the colour as "domestic appliance white", but the metallic white is the best of a poor choice on this car.

I think it would look epic with a strong metallic blue, but that's just my favourite car colour.

The Max and Plus appear to use a sort of Alcantara type material, if so I think it often looks hideous after a few years, particularly on areas of wear or on sharp angles.

Yea that's what I'm thinking it'll be dirty in no time especially if you wear jeans.

Interesting article on range, where's the Jig wonder what he thinks of it and if it's still.worth holding out for a bigger battery.

Yes it used to be my favourite colour as well until I bought my present one!

:D OK go on, trample on my dreams. What's the problem with it?

    Hi all,
New to boards. Found this thread when researching the ID3 and it's been really helpful toward my decision to reserve one. Don't have the new edition reserved but it's a possibility if repayments are somewhat affordable.
Some posts here have mentioned quotes received from dealers. I wonder would you mind elaborating on the monthly repayments received?
For example, when using the pcp calculator sites suggested in previous posts, depending on the GMFV there maybe a difference of up to €100 in repayments.
Is the 50% GMFV applying to the car quote received from the dealer on the RRP, RRP + potential trade in surcharge or on the finance amount?

Ha, no I still really like it.:) It,s just a bit hard to keep, every dirty rain shower makes it look filthy. My Honda paint seems good quality, not one chip yet after 3 years, but colour looks great after drying car. So probably as hard to keep looking well as Black.
Also very hot in summer, I normally open roof which can be done from keyfob before leaving.
I really like the white on my wifes' Ioniq, always looks clean and so cool..

The dark metallic grey I have would be similar enough, but most EVs will dirty their tail in the slightest wet conditions. It's part of the efficient design.

If I were to go for this car I priced up the plus version on the IDplan with 10% deposit and 3.9%apr. worked out at €590 give or take(plus 1st 3months paid for, dealer has to confirm this though!) 50% gmfv would be €21k on this plan.
Considering this car release was held up for awhile now I would have thought the dealers would have been fully up to date with spec/finance for last Wednesday, but typically that wasn’t the case for me anyway.

Thanks for that, must say the colour is growing on me a bit.
Filming a big guy in front of the car makes the ID3 look smaller than normal..

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I was surprised aswell, especially since "VW executives" were proposing 1.9% APR according to this Irish Times article ('vw-promises-electric-motoring-for-the-masses-starting' from last November) and suggesting payments would be from €409. The whole launch is a bit disappointing.

I was told that all both ID plan and pcp have apr of 4.9%. Is there’s a difference in interest between the trims, like trendline vs highline?

No it’s 4.9 across the range.

This is more of the dealers confusing information. I was told 3.9 for the IDplan and 4.9 pcp.

Does anyone know if the 3 months paying of finance applies to hire purchase.
I was planning as big a deposit as possible(can afford)
Then hp for 5.9% for the plus

    So 1st Plus 42119 (white)
    10k down
    Then 60 payments * 620

3*620 is 1860 to be saved

But they probably only got that 3 months for id and pcp

  • Registered Users Posts: 335 ✭✭Irishjg

I was under the impression it’s a deferred payment to the end rather than the first three months free.

-For customers who purchase their ID.3 1st with a Volkswagen Financial Services Hire Purchase agreement or via alternative means such as without Volkswagen finance, they can choose between a €1,000 contribution (incl. VAT) towards an ID.Charger Wallbox or alternatively, a free 3-year service and maintenance plan.

This is what VW say on email

For customers who purchase their ID.3 1st via VWFS PCP, VWFS ID.Plan or VWFS Operational Lease finance options, they will receive their first 3 months finance payments free-of-charge.
