    Who is Dan Sheehan?

    Fardy retained delighted with that.

None of those departures hurt too much. Losing two young THs at the same time was a pill to swallow but they ultimately had eight appearances between them so Leinster weren't tearing up trees to keep them happy. Shame about Barry Daly's injuries. Bryan Byrne was already surplus to requirements having gone to Bristol. Dowling was bypassed by Baird. I don't know much about Mullen. Tomane was at best a solid squad player.

No new contract for Rob Kearney so he's off after October.

Disappointed about Barry Daly. Really rated him. Poor kid just could not string a run of fitness together.

Exceptionally strong finisher though and was our champions cup starter when he peaked. If he was to go to one of the other provinces they'd have announced it by now surely so not sure where his future lies. Maybe he will give 7s another go?

Real showing of confidence to promote Sheehan with no senior appearances. Clearly the coaches rating him as much as everyone else. Might look to wind down Cronin over the next season or 2 (even if he does offer a huge amount still)

There's going to be people absolutely over the moon about Tomane leaving. Some with negative prejudices that they wont admit to and I wont get into. But some who just didn't rate him which I think is unfair as he was a really valuable asset for us last season especially and had a combined carrying, passing and offloading game that was extremely difficult to defend against. I'd love to see the number off successful launch plays he was responsible for. We used him off first phase in the lineout in the opposition half countless times and to great effect. Disappointing he wont get a send off.

I remember when he announced he was signing for Leinster on Instagam and over 100 people wished him well in the comments and he liked and thanked every single one individually. Small but classy gesture

Dowling jumped by Dunne and Baird in quick succession. His writing was on the wall at the start of the season yeah.

Mullin was absolutely excellent in the A games and formed a formidable partnership with Tommy but centre is absolutely stacked with players of a good age profile and Tommy covers the wing effectively too. Probably a straight shoot out between them.

I think Mullin just doesn't have the characteristics to really set him apart at the highest level. He's quite physical, he's quite a good passer and he isn't slow. But I don't think he has enough of them all sadly. Hopefully he gets a chance to prove himself elsewhere. Absolutely horrible time to be looking for opportunities though

Delighted that Fardy got a new contract and the Lowe nonsense is put to bed. Nothing too major in our departures so the few we've lost, we can stomach. As said though, such a shame for Barry Daly to go, seemed like a great chap and very talented (top try scorer in Pro14 in 17/18), his injuries were cruel. Overall though, couldn't be happier.

Our back row is outrageously stacked this year.

Not that was a concern for leaving, but am looking forward to Toner becoming Leinsters most capped player, only 13 caps left. Hopefully there will be some crowd there when he reaches it.

Given the quality of our younger second rows, it is unlikely to happen, but I'd love to see Dev get to 300. He's 34 so it's not outside the realm of possibility that he has another 3 seasons in him. Would he appear in 15-20 games in the next 3 years? Stranger things have happened! He's got a tremendous injury record (touch fecking wood)

It would seem so, he is 36 and in a position Leinster have some excellent young lads coming up. You’d have to think this will be it for him in Leinster.

That is shocking. Cut probably your most dangerous homegrown winger (he's the only one coming anywhere near Lowe in terms of tries per game average) and two promising young players in Dowling and Mullin without ever giving them a proper shot.

If Daly's injury is something he has/could have recovered from then that's an awful call.

I suppose it's difficult to find the funds when you're spending in the region of half a million on an unnecessary NIQ. You'd wonder what Leinster fans would be saying if it was Munster signing up a 36-year old non-first choice NIQ instead of backing a player of Baird's quality to break into the first XXIII.

Very disappointing. Doesn't sit right with me at all.

Nice bit of business in keeping Fardy on, otherwise all as expected.

I'll be sorry to see Barry Daly go, you can understand why he'd be looking at his options but I was always a fan.

So that's Kearney, McFadden, Tomane and Daly gone or going from our back three options. Gonna need a big season from the young guys.

I think our back 3 options are the most “understated” they’ve been in a long time. Maybe not the right word, but I think they are a lot better than their exposure to date would lead someone with little knowledge about the team would believe

Fardy has only missed games when his child was born. I can't recall him being out injured at all

There is ( potentially) 10 internationals between 2020 6n, Autumn Internationals and the 2021 6n. There is also the tail end of last season to finish and an entire new season. Leinster will need every player they can get because there will be no signings by the looks of it and a long list leaving ahead of what will be a 10 month season with very few breaks in there.

Daly has decided to pursue other non rugby opportunities in America by all accounts. Although why he wants to go to that cesspit is beyond me.
