Not out of the ordinary if they do transition year and maybe stayed back a year at some stage,

I've a 17 yr old in 5th year. She'll be 18 and 10 months doing the leaving. Started at 5 and did TY.

I think it was more that there were so many 19 year olds on this panel.

no seas tonto ....si aprendes otro idioma te van a abrir un monton de puertas.

You can just talk a bit slower and louder and add some pointing when abroad. Gets the point across. No need for wasting classes on gibberish.

I remember hearing a Billy Eilish song and I Googled her out of curiosity and saw she was born a few months after 9/11, when did I get so feckin' old :(

She is amazing . Can’t believe she’s only 17... fantastic talent

I've some friends from de UK and the lack of any knowledge of history is shocking, particularly on the subject of countries which they invaded over the years, always a few gems to bring up over a few pints :D

    Very true

My favourite story to tell Scottish people

Scotland invaded Panama in 1698, they tried to set up a colony there.

It went bankrupt. Scotland went broke and had to enter into the Act of Union with England as a direct consequence.

100% true and hardly anybody is aware of it

No Liverpool ticket is worth sitting through Kodaline, potato peeling and a conversation about suicide and leaving certs for Sonny.

Murder up next. I've never looked forward so much to the misery slot as I'm doing this evening.

Look at Penny's legs, they're very offputting. Same with her whole dress compared to the girl in yellow.

I can't decide whether she's precocious or full of herself a bit of both maybe.

If you mistake a New Zealander for an Australian they take it as a big insult. Similar to when someone mistakes an Irish person as English :D

Yeah. I remember when I started working, there was a new girl who started just after me. Was at an event with her and small talk was unavoidable.

"So what part of Australia are you from?"

    Glaring.

"I'm not. It's called New Zealand".

The next hour was just awkward.

Skid. Check out Fontaines D.C performance on the Jimmy Fallon Show from a week or 2 ago. Proper Irish punk music. Fantastic

    You're right, in fairness

I heard them on 6Music a while back and they blew me away

    There is hope still

    Don't look at me!

I get annoyed when people tell students the Leaving Cert doesn't matter, you won't remember it in 10 years etc

It matters. If you come from a lower socio-economic class it is your single best opportunity to get on a good path in life.

Not the only way, but nobody should be going around telling kids not to give it their best shot.

I agree.... I also think the young hurlers answer about his hurling being part of his leaving cert year was honest and refreshing to hear
