Banned from A+A for 1 day

Hi all,

I have been banned (from what I believe to be purely out of spite) by robindch from the A+A forum for “ignoring moderator instructions”.

I have engaged with the moderator on this issue and there is no middle ground.

I was providing feedback pertaining to an inconsistency with moderation standards in the A+A feedback thread (where mods, CMods and forum users alike have been working together to improve the forum by highlighting inconsistencies with the charter, moderation standards, acceptable posting style, etc) and my post pertained to inconsistencies in a recent moderator note. Upon highlighting this (I did not name the mod in question at the time) my posts were removed and I was banned.

I do believe this to be quite unfair as that particular thread had been utilized for that purpose with the same kind of feedback which the CMods had taken on board previously, it was not uncivil, nor was it aggressive, it was feedback highlighting an inconsistency.

Robindch kept deleting my posts in the feedback thread, stating that I needed to open a DR for my issue, I did not receive a yellow or red card so the DR forum was not really appropriate for me to go to as I had not actually received an infraction. I tried to highlight this to robindch and was promptly banned, “so I could take it to DR”.

I accept the ban is only for one day, but the moderators attitude was really unnecessary and the ban was I believe completely out of spite.

That’s no worries, sorry about the mess it was a nightmare doing it from the phone.

Kind of wish I could just highlight all the relevant PMs and use the drop down menu to forward, that’d be dead handy!

i am sorry about the delay on this one, i dropped the ball somewhat.

I have a few things to note here:
-I am going to overturn the ban on this occasion as it was for an instruction you could not follow, i.e. to start a discussion in DRP. Since the ban is obviously long expired, i will put a yellow card on your profile to note it was overturned, for the record.
-I am going to request that going forward, you should raise concerns with other mods in the A&A forum, and meanwhile, robindch will not be modding you specifically for a while in turn
-If you receive a mod instruction on a thread, do not dispute it on thread. If you feel you are not getting anywhere via PM with a mod after a couple of exchanges, then please feel free to contact a cmod. Failing this, you can post in Help Desk for forum specific moderation issues.

I'll request that this be marked as resolved in a few days if you are happy with this
