Hi there. Going through a pizza phase at present. Looking for recommendations for eating in and take away. Have tried

    Da Vincinzos
    La piccola
    Milano
    Cobblestone joe

Any place else you would recommend?

Just wondering, out of those listed, which is the best you've had thus far?

Findlaters do a good pizza too. Freshly made to order.

    Tough question!
Use to love milano romana based pizza but lately find their choice very poor. I always use tesco vouchers in there as they ridiculously expensive

Was in da vincinzo recently on a Monday night and it is buy one get one free. Was very impressed with the pizza but like milano ridiculously expensive for pizza so recommend trying on Monday or Tuesday evening when they do deal.

Cobblestone joes I thought had gd choice and gd size pizza

    La piccolo very nice also

Anyone tried papa gino for take away or the red hen?
Curious to know what people think of those

    Thanks

    Definitely not DaVincenzos

Have recently started getting our pizza delivery from Tony's in Raheen! Absolutely delicious pizza

Used to go to Papa Gino and it is a lovely pizza but with Tony's being around the corner from us, its much easier to go there.

The pizza in Cobblestone Joe's is tasty but the base is a joke, even a tiny slice just flops over like you're eating cheese and tomato sauce off a piece of tissue paper.

The base in La Piccola is excellent but the cheese & toppings only fair. La Cucina Centro was only ok when I tried it a couple of weeks ago as well.

I tried Da Vincenzo's for the first time two weeks ago and thought it was much better than anywhere else I've had in Limerick. Nice bubbly cornicione on the crust, good sauce, cheese meh, but good toppings and pepperoni that was actually pepperoni and not chorizo (why do places do that, drives me nuts). The base could have done with a bit more char but overall not bad at all.

I have high hopes for Sexton's, must try it soon.

+1 to Tony's pizza, absolutely unreal pizzas for a chipper. Papa Ginos a close 2nd.

Tony and Gino play cards during the week so he must have shared some pizza wisdom!

In fact Tony threw in a new Garlic bread with my last order that was really nice, if even a bit salty. I keep asking him if Gino has shared his bit of pepper with him.

Never understood the appeal of Papa Gino's. Overpriced and bang average in my opinion.

The man himself and the premises are both lovely mind.

McAris in Castletroy, my missus is Italian and its the only place she will eat pizza in Limerick. Ask for the fresh mozzarella, not the grated stuff

I pick up takeaway pizza from the Stone Oven occasionally as it's close to me. Very nice pizzas....ask for a portion of their garlic aoili with it as it's homemade and delish.
If I don't go there I go to Mcaris too in Castletroy. Great pizza and you can get proper chips there too.

Is Papa Gino’s still in the same location? I drove by on O’Connell street months ago and didn’t see it. I thought it was gone.

Had one from McAri's over the weekend. It was pretty alright but I think they rushed it a bit. Another two minutes in the oven and it might have been really good. They use nice cheese.

Ponte Vecchio is on my list but haven't tried it yet.

Bella Italia do great pizza but I usually end up having pasta there. Went to Milanos at the crescent lately and I thought the pizza was top notch.

I usually get pizza from Turkuaz in Milk Market. It's fresh and tasty.

And Milano is good for a thin crust.

To my great delight and mild surprise the pizza in Sexton's is excellent. Lovely salty, creamy mozzarella and great sauce.
