Renting: Landlord has given notice

Hi,

I am renting a property under a lease for more than 1 year and the landlord has asked me to move out. I am comfortable in this property and would prefer not to move out, my lease term was 1 year and is expired soon, but I have been in the property for over 1 year, not under a lease.

I am confused about how much notice the LL needs to give me and I would prefer to stay as long as possible.

Also, the LL mentioned something about possibly selling, how would that affect my notice?

Take a look here https://onestopshop.rtb.ie/ending-a-tenancy/ it will show you how much notice is required, as you are over a year (42 days). there is a paragraph at the start of that page:

"Where a lease agreement exists, notice normally cannot be given to you unless you are in breach of your obligations as a tenant, there is a break clause or both you and the landlord agree at the time to end the tenancy."

Does this means that my LL can't give me notice until my lease has expired?

Take a read of this page from the RTB. It lists the grounds under which a landlord can legally end a tenancy. Selling is one of the grounds but there are conditions a landlord must adhere to:
