This is common enough in other countries but not so much here.

A pensioner died in his flat at Imaal Court, on Cork’s northside in Nov 2018.
    Nobody noticed his absence.

I afraid people don'nt take notice about who's living around them. Sad.

Sad but we are seeing more and more of these cases every year.

Common enough in the U.K. and the States. This is one of the results of an individualistic society.

Not really a stupid question. Don't think he had any family. Apparently he was active in the community so his absence would have been noticed. Don't think anyone was bothered enough or interested enough to check on him.
Did anyone knock on his door? Probably not.

Not a stupid question at all.
What family and friends think he is being quiet for a [year] 6 months? If they did not hear from him or see him or checked with neighbours to see if he was seen out and about that would suggest that there was an underlying communication issue.

There was a guy dead in Wexford town for 6 months with the Christmas light on it the window.
Modern society neither knows its neighbour's or cares

How is it a stupid question, surely a friend or family member would have been in contact

But clearly they weren't in contact. If they were they would have known he was dead. So its a very stupid question.

People and policy have lost the importance of family and community.
