Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I remember learning this song in school at about 10 years of age. Having emigrated there in my twenties many moons ago and lived there for 5 years, it’s really resonated with me as an adult.

I still can't believe Damien Dempsey went to Mount Temple, same school as Bono.

Darren is as cool as f**k

Sharp dresser, always looks serene on the pitch

He's here because his Mammy dragged him along so she could sing, but apart from that, he's the man.

Young lad stayed up past his bed time to see Darren, it wasn't about Darren it was about his mam

They need to clone Phelim, he has Ronnie's voicebox components, unique sound from it.

I like the cosy corner feel of the set for this. Reminds me of great trad nights in a kitchen I knew well in my youth :)

Completely different mindset of musicians to the country LLS guest who basically used the show as an infomercial for their wares.

Yes, I understand that Donaghmede was awash with champagne in the 80's.

I never get the appeal of Damien

As music genres go, the aul ballady stuff is way below country music for me.

Yet the worst bit of this is way better than the best bit of the country special.

    This is tremendous.

There are three people you just don't try to sing like. Luke Kelly, Shane MacGowan and Ronnie Drew.
I'll give Phelim a pass for the night that's innit.
