4k Backpack sleeper

For my next build I want something that'll fit in a backpack and comfortably play most games at 4k/60fps (doesn't have to be ultra settings).


Budget 1300 Euro, thereabouts.

Sub-15L build - use Sharkoon Shark Zone / QB One as it can easily fit an 80mm exhaust fan.

However, if you're able to transport a 19-20L case instead, go for Sharkoon QBX or Fractal Node 304, which offer MUCH better ventilation & easier build.
Instead of Radeon VII, you could also look into a used GTX 1080 Ti - can be had for ~€550-580.

Thanks for that. I forgot to mention I've got storage out the wazoo so I don't need to buy any. Would there be much compromise in downgrading to a R 2600?

The X is better binned, but generally there isn't much difference once you manually overclock.

How big is the backpack you'll be using to lug this around?

I'll take measurements of the bag at home. I love the Fractal Design stuff but I remember the SG13 would fit, but snugly. I'll be making my own vent filter too from magnetic tape and mesh.

I'd still advise against the SG13 and for either of the Sharkoon cases for sub-15L.

Being able to easily fit an exhaust fan in something with these components is a must IMHO.

I checked and the Sharkoon QB One should fit and looks like a decent wee case.

Would it not just be better to find a case whose size and weight you're fine hefting around, and then find a bag.

Does it need to fit in carry on or something else.

I've thrown in a gaming keyboard/mouse. Gone for the Corsair PSU as the beQuiet! one was shipping to NI for the same price.

It's gaudy as ****. I'll swap them out, but I like how trashy they are.

Cheap chinese keyboards are great. It's like a lottery, 50/50 will they serve you well for years, or break after twenty key-strokes. Before I went mechanical, my keyboard was a €15 "red dragon" set, and it genuinely did the trick perfectly.

Ordered the parts for this build. Some minor changes here and there. Hopefully have it done by next weekend. Will update when it's done.

So I finished building this bad boy on friday night. I haven't had much time to tinker and cable management needs looked at (I crammed some extra drives in there) but it seems to run really, really well. The case is tiny so I'm impressed with putting so much horsepower in such a small footprint.

You could easily get a 2080ti in there with a more powerful CPU. Cracking little case, especially since all the vents are mesh. Lovely.

Will try and get more pics when I have time.
