    Hi ivorfa,

Thanks for your post. I'm sorry to hear you weren't impressed with the new Mass system.

I think it was myself you were in with on Saturday as we only had the one quick demo for the Mass system that day. The Mass speakers are the best compact satellite speakers I've heard but if you'd like to demo them against something else certainly pop back in and we can compare them with other speakers. If you're looking for a better sounding speaker system you're probably going to be looking at full range bookshelf speakers which would drive the price up a little.

Let me know what you think.

    Kind regards

    David

    Ivorfa,

what David said ^ , plus unfortunately white Satellite / Sub systems are by nature a compromise - the New Mass Gen 2 system is right at the top of its game - that game being tiny 'domestic friendly' satellites with a separate powered subwoofer - there are not many similar systems to compare the MAss Gen 2 with - you could look at the Whafedale DX2 which are really excellent. cheaper but don't look as good as the Mass 2 - the Focal Sib also sound great AND include Atmos up-firing drivers in the front sats - but they are quite large and nowhere near as good looking as the Mass.

But if you can compromise on the looks and size of the speakers - the choice really opens up - if you can look at standard bookshelf speakers then the Q Acoustics 3010i 5.1 package is available in white, it is a bit more expensive than the Mass 2 system but the larger speakers really do open up the sound and it would sound significantly better than the Mass.

In terms of reviews - the full reviews on the Mass Gen 2 are limited as it has only been released recently - Stuff magazine gave them 4/5 stars in quite a decent review:
    https://www.stuff.tv/monitor-audio/review

On our cousins site over at www.richersounds.com there is only one buyers review at this stage and it's a 5/5:
    https://www.richersounds.com/monitor-audio-mass-5-1-midnight-2nd-gen.html

I've heard them through a Denon AVRX2500 and also through a Yamaha 3080 and I have to be honest I was really impressed ( given the size compromise of course!) - but of course sound is 110% subjective and it only matters what it sounds like to YOU - which is why it's great to listen to a range of kit to ensure that you get something that suits you - in that vein if you would like to return we are happy to set up an appointment for you and run through a range of product to see if we have anything that suits your system.

    Hi ivorfa,

I’ve given your query a new thread - you’re very welcome to raise your experiences with RS, but expressing it in a thread opened by another Boardie to discuss their needs with RS is not appropriate - a quick read of the Charter will explain the standards for this forum, which includes the following:
If you see a post which is looking for a quote or advice from RS, please resist the urge to offer your opinion. Such queries are not an open invitation for posters to make suggestions etc, these queries should be left to RS to answer. If queries or requests for quotes attracted everyone's opinion, the forum would be unworkable. This is not intended to prevent the usual chat and banter which you will regularly see on the RS forum.

    Cheers,

    Ritz.
