A belief in gender identity involves a level of faith as there is nothing tangible to prove its existence which, as something divorced from the physical body, is similar to the idea of a soul. - Colette Colfer

Considering the story, how ironic. :D

I get the feeling that they're drip feeding us, there's more to come.

Interesting I was looking to take junior to Fort lucan adventure playground soon and I just read they're removing their trampolines due to a 25k insurance hike

No idea where you got that from...

The post I quoted claimed the electorate have short memories when it comes to the 2 main parties. I gave one well known example of a politician from outside the 2 main parties who had a chequered history but keeps getting elected...so the posters claim is false.

99.9% of the time when someone won't answer a straight question it's because they know the answer will incriminate them ;)

But then, she accidentally answer SOR's question anyway, when she said she was holding a bottle of wine right after saying she was holding a beer............. unless she has three hands of course, in which case, apologies.

I think the "polished wood" remark she made was a bit of an insight into where her legal team would have went come court time too.

She contradicted herself many times of course (especially with regards to her only wanting to recoup medical expenses) but one occasion which I didn't see posted about so far (may have missed it) was when she said she decided to withdraw the case last Tuesday but yet then later in the interview said she withdrew the claim because of the stuff that went on Thursday and Friday.

Can't see her recovering from this, politically speaking, perhaps even personally. She's her own worst enemy though.

When she recalled the incident to sor you can hear tonal changes in her voice that to me sounded like she accidently told the truth about the wine in her hand.

They say the hotel was planning to use cctv footage to defend

I wonder....some enterprising journo hardly has that cctv clip ??

Baffles me where they ever thought they could go with it, this is the same set of swings that every Instagram 'Influencer' from Ireland and the UK has managed to stay on whilst having their photo taken. I mean, given the perceived intelligence of some 'Influencers' - it really doesn't say much for MB. Either that or we underestimate 'Influencers'

And what is the big f*cking deal with having your f*cking photo taken on those f*cking swings anyway.

This is from a cohort who post photos of themselves taken in a public toilet for godsakes.

They wont let it leak as she would probably have a case against them if they did

This will rumble on... now that the case has been withdrawn, I think we can expect to hear more details what from the Dean Hotel

Not a lawyer but just feels to me like there might be a case if they did it. Like do they have the right to publicly release a recording of her?

The dean would still be in trouble if they didn't have a right to release it

Is it gone away though... last I heard, the hotel still hadn’t got confirmation the case was dropped .... and she still wanted to keep her story straight for legal reasons yesterday (accidentally blurting too much while doing so) ... any chance she could be considering letting the story go Away and taking up the case again at a later date?

Guy letting a shít roll down his leg before walking off got a payout from Aldi cause someone recorded the cctv on their phone and it got sent around by WhatsApps.

I would imagine it is their video, why would they not be able to show it to anybody they liked? There is no ongoing court case after all.

Is it all of their pictures and videos that are banned from release, or just the bits that show certain TD's on swings?

With GDRP etc releasing the footage could compromise her rights blah blah blah

Gonna be discussed on NT on P.K in the next few minutes.

But they do look a bit dangerous - even photo there you could see how your COG could shift.

Ah come off it Maria ;)

She didn't use the swing in the way a 2 year old would, much harder to balance if not using your hands, like jumping on a trampoline with your eyes closed or running with a scissors, two other things kids know not to do.

The whole my friend and I opened a bottle of wine in the house and had a glass each (and left half a bottle undrank) and we bought drinks and didn't consume them and she slipped up saying she was holding beer and wine on the swing so like hogwash.

After hearing her on SOR leads the cynic in me to believe if the footage of her at the time of the incident was played in court might have painted an entirely different picture of the stone cold sober lady who rarely socialises using a swing correctly.

Agree. Its not a question of short memories anyway - that is a musunderstanding of the situation that suggests voters forget not to vote for a particular party.
In fact, they do want to vote for them. FF, FG, Lab, and Greens also over the last 20 years match the political needs of the Irish voter, so he has no need to change from them. He can move around among that group, while still getting the same pilitical flavour he desires. Which is why cumulatively, they always have 60-75% of the vote. Ireland is, on the whole, hapoy with them.

It's a shame Sean didn't press her on how 3 weeks "intensive physio" could amount to €7,000 I make that 116, 30 minute physio sessions at €60 each or 5 - 6 physio sessions a day.

I know of a hard working person whose business closed recently because he could no longer get insurance, because of a recent successful insurance claim by a gouger not unlike that politician. Something not right in this country.

True solidarity in Ireland, we can all gather round and laugh at the neck on a gob****e.

Just in the small circle/area I know
Small business opens in Dublin. Within 1 month of opening, they had 2 claims against them. Both settled out of court by insurance
Same business after 1 year had to send letters to people explaining they would have to close if claims continued

Two soft play companies, shut down because insurance prices are so high. No idea if they had open claims or not

Large outside play area, lake with fishing etc.....closing because insurance is now over 40k per year. Claims still open

This is Ireland at the moment. If it continues everything will be closed. They have to change the law which allows the company to countersue.

Also if the person loses the case, they walk away and head onto the next case. They have no come back on them. It's a joke.

If they don't throw her out of FG then everyone should demand a general election ASAP......vote these gobsh*ts out. The problem is with the judges and the solicitors. Demand when politicians arrive at your door it is changed.

Probably Data Protection, she is in the footage and I think she would have to consent to it's release.

if we allow for 3 weeks between the fall and the 10k run and we allow for 100euro per physio session, thats 3.5 physio sessions per day, every day, for 21 days to get you to 7k. its utter horse sh1t

I worked in insurance a few years ago and there was no central register of people claiming for injuries.

If this was implemented it would have a huge impact on the claims culture, if every company gets the name date of birth and pps number of anyone making a liability claim and they could check the register for previous claims they could just decline / fully defend claims and use this information as the reason. Courts should bogus claimants liable for court fees and deduct from welfare or directly from salary, this would make people either A) not bring bogus claims or B) keep people with edge cases in the remit of the Injures Board which award way less than courts.
