City did that while missing their best player for most of the season.

The hard on for Maguire after yesterday, not necessarily with Utd's fanbase even, but around reporters and correspondents is fascinating.

Honestly, I thought he was fine yesterday.

But Chelsea opened that defence up a few times, and it's not like he didn't do anything any competent CB wouldn't do.

The reaction to his performance yesterday was the typical rubbish you come to expect from the English media.

Its either one extreme or the other with them.

Utd were awful at the back in the first half and were extremely fortunate not to concede 3 in the first half.
Chelsea hit the upright and the crossbar with De Gea helpless.
Barkley had a good chance and there were a few other dangerous balls flashed across the box .
A more clinical team or a team with a bit more luck would have inflicted serious damage .

To be honest that's the public these days as much as it is the media.

1 game into his tenure as Chelsea boss people are already discussing how long Lampard will last. Arsenal with no new signings and a few young lads in the team hadn't gone ahead yet away to Newcastle and one poster here (boards not this thread) said they were embarrassing iirc. People now need to say something is a superlative all the time it's seem.

With regards Maguire, if people find the need to discuss him, it's not like he did anything too bad in his teams 4-0 first match win and you gotta assume he and AWB are going to make their defense much more solid and Ole will be hoping the attack will be confident in front of goal after that performance too. I see no point in comparing Maguire to players like De Ligt or Varane as I don't think United could have signed them at this point no matter the price tag.

Does anyone have a list of the 3pm kick offs on Premier Sports? I remember there was a few lists doing the rounds last year for Sky so just checking to see if the same is there.

When does the Spanish window close?

If Barca get Neymar Madrid will have to get there statement signing as well.

Edit: meant to post this in the Transfer thread

Arsenal clearly worked hard in training on trying to spin around the tackling player and throwing themselves on the ground for the guaranteed free. About 5 different players have done it so far.

Arsenal still can't defend, Luiz asleep for the equalizer.

It's called the "Salah turn". They need to work on doing it more in the box tho for ultimate effect.

Is he going to do a Kevin Philips? He took his goal really well last week.

Week 2 and it’s as you were for wrestling at corners.

European Cup finalists and 4th best team in England time wasting after 18 minutes is a bit sad really.

Sterling gives city the lead. Great goal

Sterling with a brilliant goal. The movement and vision from Dr Bruyne is fantastic

City are amazing and even with that I get bored watching them and don't find them entertaining no matter how many great players they have.

Saying that great goal by spurs.

Really weird goal there, not a great shot but Ederson was just way out of position

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 23,220 Mod ✭✭✭✭Kiith

    Good strike by Lamela. 1-1.

Ederson all over the place there.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,520 ✭✭✭✭martyos121

Strange goal to concede. Ederson’s starting position was very poor as well.

    Strange goal!

Neville on commentary seemed really confused :pac:

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,578 ✭✭✭✭Turtwig

Such a strange goal. Did Ederson slip earlier or something that his positioning was off?

My god, City actually get booked for one of their "tactical fouls"

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 23,220 Mod ✭✭✭✭Kiith

Hah, how can Sterling argue with that?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,520 ✭✭✭✭martyos121

Blatant dive from KDB, where’s VAR for that one?

Because they get away with it constantly

He's way out of position, not only is he too far left but he's outside the 6 yard box while there's an attacker only 20 yards out.

There doesn't have to be contact for it to be a foul

KdB back in form this season is terrifying for the rest of the league.

He could not hack it in the SPL and has now scored 4 goals in 2 games in the EPL

    12 shots to 1.

city are brilliant but spurs have been awful. Lucas should be playing.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 31,954 ✭✭✭✭Mars Bar

City are tearing spurs to shreds and really should be comfortably in the lead.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,984 ✭✭✭✭Osmosis Jones

    Ultimate impact sub

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,520 ✭✭✭✭martyos121

Cracking header from Lucas, 2-2! City being punished for their wastefulness, but they’re still playing well enough to go back in front.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,984 ✭✭✭✭Osmosis Jones

Harry Kane has barely touched the ball all game and he's trying to score from the halfway line

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,424 ✭✭✭✭Utopia Parkway

Spurs have had about two attacks and have two goals from them. Economical.

Lloris is such a liability with the ball at his feet.

Aguero and Pep with quite an exchange of opinions there...interesting

Absolutely atrocious from Jose Pep, visibly arguing and berating a player on front of the cameras and team mates . I’ve never seen such barbaric treatment of a player in my life, what a terrible blight on the game this once great coach has become.

probably drop him for a month - or longer with his bench

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,520 ✭✭✭✭martyos121

City need a goal and with Sane injured, Pep only has Mahrez to call on, a former PFA Player of the Year winner and a top class footballer.

Their strength in depth is truly on another level.

Pep not caring about his players injury.
