Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

LOL, Arsenal are shyte. Great goal though...

Got to feel bad for Arsenal, this could easily be six or seven. Arsenal looking dead now and 18 minutes plus stoppages.

For all the talk of the surgery needed on United's squad, Arsenal's is in just as much rag order. Don't rate any of their defenders as reliable enough for one. And thats even with Mustafi not playing.

Delighted for Sarri. After the sh1t he's had to take from the players and the fans this season, he could not be more deserving of a big trophy.

He'll go out on a high, just like Rafa did when he managed them. Chelsea messing another top manager around.

Unfortunately he isn't getting the trophy Chelsea are. I'd love if he broke it over Kepa's head.
Arsenal as bad at the back as any team I've seen in a European final for some time. Not quite Brazil vs Germany but very frustrating to watch even as a neutral.

They like United are seemingly lacking leadership on the field. When things go wrong or get difficult too many are hiding.

Chelsea are really destroying Arsenal here.

The Iwobi goal was a lovely strike. Apart from that Arsenal have been very underwhelming.

I think we will see something similar on Saturday night with Liverpool mauling Spurs.

Does a penalty count as a shot on target from a betting point of view does anyone know?

    I presume it does.

Cech has kept this game respectable for Arsenal. It could easily be 6 or 7.

Ozil doing some giving out on the bench. His career is done for. He would be better off heading to the States or China for the easy life he seems to crave.

Great save by Cech, though Arsenal should have scored at the fair end had options been taken.

Must have a fever or something.
Aubemayang & Lacazette have had an off night but the rest of this team are terrible tbh. Poor Emery needed that CL money to try & build on what little they have.

This is starting to look like the FA Cup final. I can't believe how lacklustre Arsenal have been.

Chelsea getting through with such ease, cant believe how poor Arsenal have been second half.

Pedro has always being a big game player....given his diminutive build ,pound for pound one of the better players in World Football over last ten years.

When things go tits up he is very adept at throwing his toys out of the pram rather then accepting collective responsibility.

Pity about that miss would have made a bit of a game of the last 12, Jesus another sitter missed as I type.

Was at the game. Atmosphere was amazing, including the Zenit fans in that. They were the better team but it was a proper game of football. This game was like a friendly, in an awful location, with no atmosphere and Arsenal didn't turn up in the second half. No comparison.

Good job interview for the Juve job for Sarri?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 53,262 ✭✭✭✭GavRedKing

If arsenal were a bit more clinical this could have been a very good game.

    Both back lines are suspect.

Arsenal were unlucky in the end.

Happy to have won in the end.

We've gone from Pot 2 in the CL to Pot 1 that's the best thing about tonight.

Petr Cech pretending to look gutted there.

Scoreline should have been closer if Arsenal had taken some of their chances. Chelsea deserving winners though. Pleased for Sarri and Hazard.

What happens to the Europa League Winners Champion league spot now?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,694 ✭✭✭✭osarusan

Completely different second half, although Chelsea had already started to sort themselves out before halftime.

Chelsea controlled the second half so well. Hazard murdered Arsenal, and they murdered themselves defensively also, gave it away too easily.

One big difference was that Chelsea too the chances they created, whereas Arsenal missed them. Ozil was truly appalling. Lacazette and Aubameyang were so poor. Iwobi much more energetic when he came on. Giroud really good for Chelsea, caused them trouble every time.

Lyon fans will be cheering Chelsea on in the final.

If Chelsea win Lyon will go into the group stage of the Champions League and Chelsea into the Pot 1, If Arsenal win they will join the 4 other English teams in the Champions League joining Man City and Winners of CL into Pot 1 for the group draw. Sparta Prague will be cheering for Arsenal as they will benefit from the knock-on effect of Arsenal winning.

Lyon will be cheering Chelsea as Chelsea have already qualified for the Champions League with their league performance so the knock-on effect of no Europa League spot will bump the team who finished 3rd in the 5th highest league which is France into the group stage instead of play-off round

Lyon, according to the rule below :
"A vacancy created by the UEFA Europa League titleholder is filled by the third placed club of the association ranked fifth in the access list and the league path is rebalanced accordingly with priority given to the club of the best ranked association of the respective round in the access list."
