Strava - issue with GPS?

I have a phone holder (one that zips closed to protect from weather) and my activity always auto pauses after 30s - 2.5 minutes after I start. Same thing happened with another app last year when I had just put my phone in my backpack. Is this stopping the gps signal or is it the app? Anyone ever encounter this?

Battery saver or location settings on the phone I'd guess.

Mine finds me fine in the front pocket of my backpack.
