RTE are doing this kind of thing all the time now, getting people at their most private lowest point, normally to be shared with a wise listener; now it’s for broadcasting in public.

I agree. It feels wrong that this is viewed as entertainment. Raising awareness of issues is one thing. But taking advantage of soneone who is grieving is quite another

They're always at that on this show.

At least he's been in the spotlight to some degree. The normal schtick of getting families who've never been on tv before to talk about their bereavements is shameful.

To be fair, Johnny was talking about things that nobody really knew about eg his wife losing the baby. She looked p!ssed off that he mentioned it on live tv when maybe some friends and family didn't even know about that.

I honestly feel we have to cut Tubs some slack with that one, he was definitely unaware of all that. His mother dying when he was eleven was a story already told and Tubs would have known about that, but i doubt even JW himself knew when he walked on stage that all that would come gushing out of him.

He seems a sound and genuine bloke and as i said before, he was an absolute warrior for Ireland. That night we beat Germany at Lansdowne a few years back, he played the exact way the fans in the stands were feeling. Warrior.
