Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    That's it.

The better team on the day have lost imo, but that's football. This was a poor Liverpool performance, fairly negative and not what people are used to. Pragmatic though, and you need to be to win titles.

Alison motm as no outfield player has been that good

G’man Kane, 10/10 for effort there.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,191 ✭✭✭✭Shanotheslayer

Can't wait till Klopp learns to coach a defence and win something.

Yah must be easy to say after so many failures. You absolute clown.

Anyway great that Origi scored the winner if ever a player deserved it after what he contributed to their CL run

    Kane with yet another dive.

English players fall, Johnny foreigner dives

    Kane was a huge mistake.

At least spurs can point to this as serious progress.

Give Poch 100/150m to spend and they'll be even better next year, they won't be in the CL final though this was their one and only chance tonight.

He'd been awful tonight. Really hope he gets his act together for the England games.

Game over. Can’t say they haven’t deserved it. Spurs gave it everything but I think a combination of having nothing up front and Liverpool having more savvy for the big occasion.

As I’m typing..Kane in a good position and fûcks himself to the ground rather then attempt to score.

    What game are you watching?

The one that comes at the end of a truly magnificent season where one of the best teams we’ve ever seen wins the big trophy and takes their rightful place in history. What game are you watching lad?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 53,262 ✭✭✭✭GavRedKing

    Alli and Kane cost spurs.

Kane had to play as captain but Alli was on the pitch far logger than he should have been IMO.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,191 ✭✭✭✭Shanotheslayer

Poch fcked up starting Kane instead of Moura.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,232 ✭✭✭TheRiverman

Liverpool won't give a toss how they played they a Champions of Europe.

    Kane with yet another dive.

Salah's been throwing himself to the ground all game. Kane was shouldered. It's not a dive, but it's not a foul

If they'd made the final last year facing Karius it'd be about 5-2 spurs.

This was their chance and their failed to deliver, again.

90 mins of hoofball. Nothing special about this performance. Reminds me of the Porto victory in 2004.

Safe to say England won't be a threat for a while again with players like Alli, Kane and Trippier. A load of overrated wasters.

congrats to Liverpool, finals are about winning, not at playing nice football. Thoroughly deserved after a great season.

Happy for Liverpool but what a horrible game! A win is a win is a win though!

    Congratulations!

Van Dijk and Allison Liverpool's two outstanding players.

It's why you sometimes have to pay the money. That said Origi cost 10 million I think and he's becoming invaluable

Congratulations to Liverpool. Van Dijk my MOTM. Alisson very good as well. Klopp surely the best coach in the game as it stands.

Shows what can be done when the board, coach, scouting policy are all doing their job well. This is a reward for excellent business done last summer. The flaws of last season were identified and rectified perfectly.

Think Tottenham can hold their heads high for their season given the circumstances they've had to deal with. Don't think their failings tonight were tactical or due to commitment. Just couldn't crack this formidable defence.

Both clubs heading in the right direction for sure, unlike others I could name.

Hard to argue with that. Liverpool completely contained Spurs from start to finish.

Not good enough. Time for Poch to head for OT if he wants to play with the big boys. Spurs were happy to make that final. The semi was their final.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,232 ✭✭✭TheRiverman

Win a crap final or loose a classic.I know which one I'd prefer.

You can make an argument either way. They were as poor a winner of a champions League final match as I've seen in a long, long time.

Allison and Virgil were their best players. Salah was poor. Firminho too.

Starting Kane was a mistake in hindsight. Taking winks off was an odd one, he'd been playing well.

Congrats to Liverpool. That was a hell of a season for ye. Commiserations to Spurs. That game will not live long in the memory though.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,047 ✭✭✭Jamiekelly

Poch will be sickened but he will be very dangerous with a solid transfer budget. Won't be a two horse race for the PL next season. City, Tottenham and Liverpool at the top of their game. Long may it continue
