We had a grasshopper in the garden in Dublin today, first time I think, heard it before we saw it, my kids were thrilled. Getting very cloudy now, dissappointing.

a beautiful day at Dunshaughlin, mostly sunny and currently 23C.

Just an average day here, mostly cloudy with a cold breeze and the temp a mediocre 19.8c.
The good news is there is only a week left of this crap summer.

It's very pleasant but I would have liked 27 or 28C, a temperature we completely failed to reach this year.

More of the same for the next 2 days with low 20's till about Tuesday.

Once a breeze cleared the midges, a really pleasant autumnal day out here. Warm wind, and that feel of changing season in the air that brings peace.

A deep pleasure to be outside, garnering edibles and flowers, tidying, looking forward to new times. Tang in the air that summer has gone and that that is grand.

27's and 28s are nice I think for a few days every couple of weeks any summer
But if they were to become the norm, you'd lose 10s of thousands of jobs here in the Agriculture manufacture sector, not to mention farms themselves, only to be replaced by min wage waitering or beach hotel housekeeping jobs
The economy would shrink and taxes would rise to try fill the gap needed to pay for our large public sector, tax rises that would spiral the decline as they're already very high

Yeah the lads down the west has sent the cloud here to, the clear sky is still over head and to my east, north east, but the sun has gone, might have to light the fire, ;)

    Edit: clouded over completely now

The high pressure moved too far east for us to really tap into it with high temperatures and unbroken sunshine over England and the continent. We got sideswiped by the high pressure with the Atlantic airflow never really leaving the west. The east is in no mans land between the heat and sun to our east and the cooler and more unsettled conditions to our west. This has resulted in temperatures and sunshine intensity to be not that exciting for us.
