Sun nearly broke through in Cork city at 7 for 5 mins after a dark grey day. It didn't break through in the end so it was another cloudy reeking day down here a totally miserable summer down here weather wise

We had a sunny enough day in Cobh. Just goes to show how localised it was.

Absolute scutter here in North Kerry. Dense low hanging cloud with drizzle.

First time I've felt cold in a few months.

    Tomorrow not looking great either.

a fairly wide temperature gap today between the far west and Leinster with an 9C difference.

Similar tomorrow but maybe a degree or 2 lower across all areas. 19 to 24C across the east and north and 13 to 18C across the west and south. Coolest right along the coast. Cooler everywhere from Monday but temperatures still holding up well from Shannon to Dundalk eastwards.

A gentle, peaceable morning with enough breeze and quiet skies. The tide was well out when we walked to the shore; calm expanses of rippled sand.

Altogether, a lovely day out here. Just a hint of drizzle as we neared home and that is fine too,

What temp did Dublin reach today? I was out in the park for the day and it was lovely. Must check what it reached in Phoenix park

Dublin had a pretty wide range of temperatures yesterday. The Airport and Phoenix Park scored just over 21°C while it was much warmer in more western parts with almost 25°C at Casement Aerodrome. Was sea breezes a major factor in the weather there?

Strange one with Dublin because casement was that bit warmer yesterday but Phoenix park has been the warmest place in Ireland (not just Dublin) on so many days this summer. Will be interesting to review once simmer has ended but it feels like Phoenix park had the top temperature more than any other station. Oak park tends to be up there too

Very dull and overcast in Castlebar, again just nudging 15C, it will be interesting to see our sunshine levels for August, the 1st and 2nd were the only days we had long continuous periods of clear skies and sunshine this month.

Only slightly better here Xenji at 16.4C, but cloud just starting to break up over the sea with a nice gentle breeze making it feel a bit fresher anyway. Need it to dry out the grass so it can be cut. Using all the fine weather atm to get the jobs done around the place after the poor weather this month. As I type the sun is coming out.

As we approach the end of august, how would everyone rate Sumner of 2019. From a dublin perspective I would probably give it a 6.5 or maybe 7. Last summer was probably a 9. June was a write off this summer but July was very warm and august has been a mixed bag though it is finishing strong. I would probably verge closer to 7 as it's been pretty warm since end of june with majority of days over 20 degrees.

Well short of the summer of 2018 though which was phenomenal
