It is all falling apart. I see the highest temps for Friday have been revised downwards to 26. Mark my words, we will be lucky to see 24.

24 is still double what we had for the last couple of weeks.

So far showers not moving much when they develop. Hard to know how the rest of the day will go. But loving the warmth at least.

still a dissapointing day in Meath, not a second of sunshine, completely cloudy and damp from yesterdays downpours, but at least it's feeling milder at 18C.

There isn't a world of difference between 26C and 28C. Right now it's 18C where I am and it feels warm compared to what we've had up to now. Even if 24C is reached over the next few days, that will feel very tropical compared to what we've been used to and would be delighted to get that temperature for a few days. 26C should be reached in a few western areas on Thursday and Friday, especially when there will be dry and settled conditions as well.

Temperatures hit near 23c in Kilkenny City after lunch today. If you are suggesting that the rest of this week won't see much more than 1c warmer than today then you're going to be very, very wrong.

The 850hPa temperature over Kilkenny right now is 9c. By Thursday morning this increases to 16c and then to 17c for Friday morning. This puts the potential for 2m temperatures up to between 28c and 31c.

I guess we've just had bad luck here, I can see lots of other areas that have some nice sun and temperatures several degrees warmer! Hopefully the cloud will break a bit here soon.

Glorious sunshine here in Wexford and it's warm and sultry. Even so,I just saw my neighbour out in a fleece.

Almost night time here in Tallaght. Very, very dark. Like a winters afternoon in mid December except for the heat.

Cloudy all day in Dublin 5 with an intense shower in the morning. The sun has made a few feeble attempts to break through but failed.

The variation in weather in Dublin today is quite interesting. There was a thunderstorm causing disruption at the airport earlier, overcast all day in Dublin 5 up until now (there's a bit of sun now) and Dublin 13 had a bit of sun throughout the day.

Hazy grey skies all day in Dublin.

    Humid clammy unpleasant.

    This is irish summer.

Really beautiful evening in Northside Dublin. Managed to get a few holes of golf in at 8pm and then a walk on the pier in Howth, sea was like glass. So lush everywhere after all the rain. No wind at all which just makes it all so magical. I complain so much about the weather here but if you make the most of evenings like this it's almost worth it.
