31-05-2019 8:13amHi,
Just looking for a soundbar around the budget above.
Want to use it for both TV and streaming music from phone. So must be able to handle loud volume etc. I have an Alexa dot so if possible linking to that but not a necessity. I have the Sonos Play 3 but Sonos soundbar just too expensive.
thanks

thanks for the post and apologies, I'm not sure what happened your earlier posting!
Have you looked at the new SONOS Soundbar - The Beam? :
https://www.richersounds.ie/p-203473-sonos-beam-black-inc-6-year-warranty-smart-soundbar-with-amazon-alexa-voice-control.aspx
Its £399 so over budget - but at the moment it's a great price in Euro at just €419 including delivery which is a cracking price - check out the What Hi-Fi 5 Star review here:
https://www.whathifi.com/sonos/beam/review
If you did want to stick to the budget do have a look at the Yamaha YSP1600:
https://www.richersounds.ie/cssearch.aspx?searchterm=ysp1600#pgnum=&sort=
At just £299 it is the best you can buy around this price if you are just looking at pure audio quality!
Thanks again and keep us posted if we can assist in any way,

Do you know if the Beam could be hung underneath the tv. The TV is on a moveable bracket in a corner of the room and was going to attach the soundbar to the tv bracket.
The specs of the Yamaha of 80W seems low when compared to other soundbars.
If i upped the budget between 400-500 is anything else suitable.0 -

You could you the Sanus WSSBM1 mount priced at £49 to mount the beam to your TV bracket. (Fits onto most TV brackets).
https://www.richersounds.ie/p-203614-sanus-beam-tv-mount-wssbm1-tv-wall-bracket-for-sonos-beam.aspx
One thing to remember is that Watts does not determine how good a product is just how loud it can be turned up.
The beam is already in the 400-500 Euro budget coming in at 419 which a good price on it.
At the same price point there is the Sony HTXF9000 - 419 Euro
https://euro.richersounds.ie/p-203248-sony-htxf9000-soundbar.aspx
Going above the beam there is the Yamaha Musiccast Bar 400 coming in at 529 Euro
https://euro.richersounds.ie/p-203613-yamaha-musiccast-bar-400-soundbar.aspx
Let me know your thoughts.0 -

It really depends how many movies you are going to buy with an Atmos sound track. It is getting more and more common but at the moment not ever movie has this audio format.
As you mentioned the Sony does lack the Alexa functions.
The best the Sonos can output is Dolby Digital+.
It really is down to yourself on this one unfortunately.
The Sony will sound much much better (in-fact there would be no comparison between the two for sound quality) but does lose the Alexa side of things. You can still connect you Dot into the Sony and use its speakers using a 3.5mm to 2 phono cable.
The Sony also has bluetooth which you can use to connect your phone.
The Sonos has more streaming options provided you are registered to the likes of Spotify, Tidal etc.....0 -

The Bar 400 does sound fantastic and you are getting the Musiccast functionality as well. It allows you to add wireless rears and integrate it with other Yamaha Musiccast components.
I don't have any movement on the price of the Yamaha unfortunately!
Let me know what you think.
Kind regards

Not 100% decided yet on the Yamaha and just reading a few different reviews and some positive and negative. Will decide during the week0 -
