Bike Shops That Package Bikes For Shipping?

If I was gonna sell a bike to someone abroad - via eBay, for example - do local bike shops normally offer the service of professionally packaging it? Also, what service would be the most economical when shipping a bike abroad? Anyone with any experiences to share?

Funny, I just came across a service for packing a bike for air travel, possibly for personal travel but could be worth checking. Unable to post link but google Rothar ie, they offer bike packing services from €25. Never dealt with them so unable to comment what they are like.
