Guys on the email it says we leave personal belongings in a room, is it safe in the room? Was traveling with a friend who’s had to change her flight so now isn’t coming up to Dublin and worried about my stuff? (I’m from cork, not a lover of Dublin 😂)

Yes it's a small room in the bigger room where you'll take the test.

Thanks a million, was leaving my stuff with friend until she couldn’t go! Has anyone any tips on the report writing?

Focus on the specific details. If you hear a name, address, date of birth etc, stop whatever you're writing and make sure you get those.

This is a long shot but I’ve stage 2 on the 2nd of October and apparently it’s the last batch of candidates. Would anyone recommend an online course to sit , I’m worried & stressed I won’t perform well and I’m aware that I left it too late .

I’ve mine Friday and was considering getting the course on career services but ended up talking to a new enough Garda I know today and was very helpful! Them courses are meant to be good enough!

Does anyone know how the scoring is gone for stage 2? I know the test we done online we have to get the same kinda of results but for the others we haven’t done what must we get?

  • Registered Users Posts: 168 ✭✭Ciano1997

Just finished my stage 2. To those who say there’s today or throughout the week a big well done. It’s not easy , I’m glad it’s over. I fecked up but I’m hoping there’s enough to pass. Apparently our results will be out in early Nov. so sit back relax & enjoy the long wait.

Remember, that you just have to pass and not drop too much (so that they feel you may have cheated). Only the report writing and job simulation go towards your OOM score

How do you feel you messed up? Have mine tomorrow, a bag of nerves tonight! On career services all week so I’m praying I’ll be ok!

Thanks for that! I didn't know it was only the job simulation and report writing that counted, I did poorly in the stage 1 so I don't have a big challenge ahead of me.
So I'm guessing I would probably be better off to just focus on the report writing and job simulation questions for practice.

I've the assessment tomorrow, I'm just hoping theres no issues with the storm.

I didn't realise it either until I got my OOM

How long do we typically wait to get the OOM and to be brought forward for the interview (if we get that far)?

I missed out on both addresses & fecked up with on phone number. They speak so fast in the vidoe.

On the train on my way up for the assessment today and theres a bridge strike, a truck hit the bridge we're going over up ahead.
I'll be cutting it close if I make it in time at all

Where would that leave me if I miss my slot?

Thanks for answering! I missed the phone number as well and a second line address. They do speak fast but the speaker was so loud in our room that you could hardly hear specific details. People actually complained after

Maybe give them a call! I got train yesterday and had 3 hours to spare in Dublin yet still only got there on time! What slot are you down as?

Thanks, I'll give that ago, 11:30, and we're just outside of Tullamore now

Got there late alright, I gave the contact fella a ring and he said just go to the later assessment so it's not the end of the world, just a long wait!

    How did you find it?

    How did you find it?

Flew through the first two parts, for better or for worse.
Think I missed part of the address for the first fella in the report writing but overall I'm fairly happy with it, fingers crossed!

Is the report writing exercise on the day as hard as Garda IP samples. Finding them very fast and hard to get all important information down.

Information comes at you fast, just make sure to write down addresses numbers and names as quick as you can.

Complete assessments today. Report writing went well in the end. The logical reasoning alot different to Garda IP course but hopefully did enough to pass. Fingers crossed.

Did they give any indication of when we'll be getting results, I was talking to a few people after my assessment and I heard everything from a week to a little over a month.

  • Registered Users Posts: 225 ✭✭daniel1390

From my experience in this campaign, results 3 to 4 weeks minimum until you hear back whether you passed or failed for stage 2

We were told today that it would be early November.

Hi, done Stage 2 today and felt like it was very difficult as compared to Stage 1. I reckon I messed up on the report too missed the second part of the first persons address and compared to other people there today didn’t seem to write as much only like a page and a half. Maybe should have done the course anyway nothing more can be done now I guess.

    Ahh exactly my thoughts :(
I just can’t seem to get all the info down.
I have the GardaIP too. Dreading report writing.

Focus on Names, Addresses and Phone numbers.
Write short hand for yourself in the rough work.
Don’t add in anything your not 100% sure on, if they mentioned something like ‘water’, ‘threw in’.. don’t assume they were on a bridge.. a lot of people add in their own little bits like that,

That’s about all you can do really.
    Best of luck

Report writing is not as bad at the time just make sure you get names addresses and phone numbers and odd other note and you will be good. The logical reasoning and job sim was my iffy areas on the day and felt comfortable with them prior to assessment.

Get as much as you can but it does come very fast at you. I used career services and found them good but on the day still found it hard to get the info!

I did Stage 2 on 28/06/2019 and got results then on 30/07/2019 so its generally about a month of waiting.

Results are out for those who recently sat stage 2 the start of Oct. I failed the written report. So I didn’t get onto stage 3. Best of luck to those going forward

Absolutely heartbroken today. Got 37 on Job Simulation and passed the other 3.. It was probably my last chance at 33... 51 on report writing and was least confident about that!! Good luck to all who got through.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 393 ✭✭MrMiata

Got my results for Stage 2 today, delighted I passed! OOM is 1200s though so I'm guessing it'll be a while before I'm called up.
    Delighted all the same!

I passed the stage OOM 1036, what happens now?

62 in report writing even though i thought it went badly

Is everyone that passed called for interview at some stage?

  • Registered Users Posts: 157 ✭✭SquireD

Congrat's to everyone who passed! :)

got 38 in report writing and 42 in job sim, oom is 1350, i jumped from 2500 in oom , presume alot failed or dropped out as thats a massive jump, presume the interviews will run start of december, as higher up the oom had their interviews roughly 5 weeks after stage 2 results, hard luck to all that didnt succeed

  • Registered Users Posts: 8 Shaunie86

Any idea what qualifying score was in Job Simulation. I got 37 :(

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 226 ✭✭St. Westy

Well done to all 🙂 passed with an oom 1146. Just reading through all comments. I think for the meantime to gather as much info as you can and prepare for an interview at this stage while you wait to be called. Seen they’re taken in people with oom of 700’s In November

What's the OOM in? Stage 3?
I'm in the 1200s, I'd imagine we'll be into late 2020s before we get through the gates of templemore
