I have my stage 2 on Monday. I am currently practising stage 2 report writing on one of the websites. I am finding it pretty tough to be honest. I think this will be my weakest module of all of stage 2.

It wasn't as bad as I thought at all you'll do fine

Hey guys, I just rang the Public Appointment Service and he said they’re currently doing the results of the first batch of Stage 2 exams and that we’ll have the results by this evening and if not then it’ll be early next week at the latest.

Would be great to know going into the weekend :D

Last text came in around lunchtime so say if it's much later than that we won't have them until Monday/Tuesday

I'm 99% sure the report writing comes last pal.

Speaking of the report writing, is anybody finding the Garda IP report writing tough going ? I don't know if I'm trying to be too thorough or what. I'm hoping the actual exam is a bit handier.

I thought the same.  But I rang GardaIP and they told me that they purposely made the Report Writing difficult so I would find the real thing easier.  I sat Stage 2 a few weeks ago and felt it went very well but you never know. Reckon I

Ya the report writing is a lot easier but I found the logical reasoning harder

I’ve a feeling it’ll be Wednesday. When I rang on Friday and he said early next week I said so Monday or Tuesday and he said or Wednesday so I’m going with Wednesday!

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 90 ✭✭Macu17ab

I suppose it would depend how much progress they made on Friday and today, they’d probably have a better idea by now.

I’m not gonna get my hopes up and just keep Wednesday in my head cause on Friday morning they said they’d be out Friday evening and by lunchtime when I rang they said they would be out between Monday and Wednesday :L

    Hi all,
I’ve my stage two exam tomorrow for the first time, any tips for it? Also, in terms of what to wear will a shirt and jeans (Smart Casual) be sufficient? Thanks.

They don't mind what you wear to stage 2 whatever is comfortable for yourself is fine

I think Wednesday, just because of the way the guy from PAS said it when I rang. I was like Monday or Tuesday then and he said or Wednesday so I think that was him inadvertently saying Wednesday :L unless someone else wants to give a call and see what they say today!

Perfect, hopefully there’s a more direct answer given when you call! I know it’s hard to plan without knowing where you’ll be!

Yeah so annoying also wanted to go Oz in March for 3 weeks but if we keep getting through the stages there is no chance what so ever of that happening haha..

Ahh okay cool thanks for the update, did you ring them yeah? :)

Quick question, not sure if anyone will be able to answer for definite..

So, the first 900 that got called, are we being marked in comparison to the other 899 people who took the tests, so if we pass our OOM should be below 900?

If so, what does that mean for the people who did the tests in the second round because if they don't have our tests marked yet they definitley don't have theirs..

Really confused about how it all works because surely once we get our OOM after this round it won't change until the next

Thanks Lucy. I sat my Stage 2 today and wondered this exact question...am I banking on a couple of hundred people withdrawing/failing in order to get any chance of getting through to the next intake?!

This wait is killing me!. At least we'll definitely be put out of our misery this week.
I failed stage 2 in 2016 - I usually panic in exam situations and my score in abstract & logical reasoning didn't match up with my stage 1 results. Did very well in the other two parts of the test.
I remember that gutted feeling upon logging on and finding out. Praying for a different outcome this time around 😊
Wishing the best of luck to anyone yet to do it!

So do they look for you to match or do nether in each section than you did stage one otherwise it’s a fail?
