Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

After a brightish decent start the Danish are starting to play a bit and threaten our box with each possession almost. We need to work more on keeping the ball, finding some of our own men..there are some good runs being made upfront but it’s heads down stuff all the way.

Brilliantly timed tackle from Duffy on Eriksen.

Lots of empty seats in the Irish section. Travel costs very high? Decent game to so far. Both sides well up for it.

    Mc Goldrick looks very rusty.

What other options do you have up front? Long is injured.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,630 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Nice Guy

Not great options besides McGoldrick. Shame that Long isn't there since he finished the season well.

Maybe Hogan is there, who knows/cares?

I only said he looks rusty.

Hendrick has been anonymous. Forgot he was playing until I heard his name mentioned just there.

No idea about flights but Denmark itself is expensive. Not to mention that this is tourist season so accommodation would be that bit more costly than at other times of the year.

McClean, Duffy and Stevens our best players. When we get in good positions though our lack of ability to find a final ball is criminal.

    Would have preferred O’Dowda.

    Mccleans awful

Playing much better than our last visits over there but feel if we go a goal down we wont get one back

The sooner some of the new guys come in the better. Will Cullen come on ?

He’s at least showing some drive, heart, ambition and guts to try and actually get on the ball. Three quarters of the team as usual marking space and charging after red shirts.

Mick McCarthy has so little to work with in this Ireland squad. Feel for him.

and as usual that translates into a willingness to hurt better players

Hourihane didn't know where that ball was going to end up!

I like Brady but christ he's anonymous at the best of times.

Really shouldn't be starting, O'Dowda or Callum Robinson should be starting ahead of him

Great back pass to Randolph there.

I doubt he will play any new guys tonight. Seems like its a horses for courses kinda thing especially away from home. Be nice to see it though

Can’t get a cross into the box and then two of our players tackle each other..

    Good first half I thought.

    Very different to Trap/MON.

    Good to see.

That's all he does, but the Danish right back has barely had to break a sweat.

He's not a good footballer. He works his bollocks off which is a plus but in a team that is playing with the ball on the deck his limitations are there for everyone to see.

He gets a lot of free passes around here because he works hard, but a good footballer he is not.

  • Defenders doing great work so far.
    Side note:

Some lads might laugh at me but Duffy would be an upgrade on all our Utds cbs bar lindlelof

Well, I’d give him credit for being one of the few Irish players who WANT the ball and thinking FORWARD,

No matter what era Irish team was, you'd always take a 0-0 away to Denmark.

Come on, no one deserves that!!!

Defenders doing great work so far.

Very good which is a reflection on the team I suppose

Think McCarthy gone safe with Brady, McClean

Hourihane getting a yellow is annoying but hopefully he stays on the pitch, like a Wes reincarnated

Love to see Robinson, O'Dowda & Doherty on the pitch but feels like we'd be shoehorning them all in

Happy with that half. Would like to see O'Dowda/Doherty for Brady and Robinson for McClean at some stage in the second half.

He used to be the most over rated dead ball specialist in international football now he's lost out thankfully to hourihane.

He’d be better than Mustafi for us too.

    Edit.
    So would I.

    I'd agree.

McClean been the worst of the Irish so far

Yeah, running into his bird and not the goals against Bosnia and Italy.

The rest of your post isn't wide of the mark but the last sentence is just bull**** really.
