Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I just never attended a festival before. One of the bigger official ones.

I attended my first festival at 35... and quite quickly realised why. If it makes you feel any better about missing it, I hated the experience. I wouldn't be surprised if they trace this whole thing back to a festival and not actually China lol :D

Ah no, hopefully it will all just be rescheduled - Glastonbury are allowing people to carry over their deposits so they automatically secure a spot for the next one. Hopefully they will all follow suit. When all of this is over, it will be something to look forward to.

This is supposed to be the year of:
    My wedding
    My first music festival
My first distant, non UK, holiday

    If you didn't laugh you'd cry :(

Tell me about it, I was all excited that 2020 would be the best year so far, graduating college, going out into the world and getting a proper job. But now I don’t know if I’ll have a graduation ceremony depending on how long this lasts, and if there’s a global recession I probably won’t be able to get a job :(

I was 18 for my first big single day fest and I think 25 for my first camping fest. I think there has only been a year or two where I haven't been to a decent size festival since (due to work/travel etc) and some years I've been to several.

Done right festivals can be immense craic altogether. You just need to be a little prepared is all.

The amount of never-seen-before walkers being led along the paths by their little ball of fluff that hasn't seen the outside of the house in about 5 years. Yeah, well done, now try having control over your dog and walking it every day.

Also TA someone who I don't like and who must know I don't like him just sent me a Facebook friend request. People are strange.

These times make people behave differently.

There's an (ex)customer of ours who I've been referring to as a, Fcuking Prick, lately and saying that I'm sick of him and have zero time for him. I was walking past his shop yesterday and saw that he was still open - I dropped in just to wish him well :p

Yes. Now that you mention it, there's been some "reaching out" and reuniting in my world, too. I'm not going to forgive that one for doing nasty things even if he's the last survivor on earth. I dated him a few years ago and he threatened to share personal photos of me online. You can't trust people like that at the best of times. Petty disputes should dissolve now, though. Differences needn't be a wedge between people anymore.

Ah I hear you. Graduation was one of the best days of my life. After all the hard work, it's nice to have the bells and whistles. In the same way that many people celebrate their weddings even though technically the legal part can be done in 2 minutes with only a witness or two.

Who knows, maybe pressing the "reset" button will give us all an opportunity to be innovative and work in areas that we never thought about before. It is scary though.

TA other half is working from home also. It's working out great - we "meet for lunch" and convene in the evenings when we are both finished but otherwise leave each other alone except... he finishes at 4 whereas I finish at 5, and he seems to think that hour can be spent in my room chatting etc. Noooo, go away during my most productive hour. Need a do not disturb sign on my door :o

People who put milk in their beverages the wrong way round imo.
    Coffee milk first .
    Tea milk last, always.
    God I'm bored :(

Probably far from trivial but I need to get this off my chest! Been dipping in and out (and trying to keep up with) one of the Covid threads. I know the situation is dire, I know it is unprecedented and everyone (me included) is scared and there is great uncertainty about the future. But it seems like there are so many people willing to shut down any sliver of good news at all costs. Every post I have seen that has been remotely positive has been shut down. Hope is such an important thing at times like this and it doesn't mean we are discrediting the truth or hiding from reality, just trying to see a positive where we can.

Someone said Ireland was only 32nd worst in terms of stats and then straight away someone else said "oh well we are much worse if you take out the little fecky countries" (my words not theirs :D). Reminds me of that Dara O' Briain video about alternative medicine and he mentions how zombies are at an all time low and there will still be some f*cker who shouts "yes but the fear of zombies is rising".

I don't know, maybe the fear is getting to me, but some people come across as f*cking misery merchants who actually thrive when things look bleak

Sorry. I feel so much better now. :pac:

I was out out on St Patrick's Day and have never seen so many bichon frises and dog ****. If you're not in the habit of taking your little darlings out for a walk there are rules to abide by, like cleaning up after them.

My TA is the ridiculous box that my order came in. The product was about the length of my hand and the box could easily fit two or three pairs of shoes in it. What a waste.

People wearing shorts in cold weather.

I'm not talking about people out for a run, or people who are on their way to the gym or something - people going about their daily lives wearing shorts. Back when we used to go out in public, I remember seeing more than one guy wearing a big puffy jacket, hat, scarf, and shorts! Top half over-dressed for the weather and bottom half under-dressed.

These people should be rounded up and given proper attire!

My friend's on a much needed holiday in the UK. He has possible symptoms. He has been out every day this week. He's also been ranting about people buying toilet paper. Even if he wasnt on holiday hed be going around as if nothing was happening. Bit annoying. Surely it should be a concerted effort.

I'd love to have seen this :D

I'm so anti-social that even pre-corona I would have screamed that thought in my head. I'm delighted that it is now socially acceptable to say it out loud.

One of my biggest hopes is that along with mankind, social distancing and hygiene practices will also prevail. :pac:

Kind of a TA for me, but might not be in the eyes of other people....

I was off work with a wry neck between Wednesday and Saturday last week. I was then told not to go into work until I was called in during the week (I clean inside public buildings). During this time, I was still on medication for my neck and it pretty much worked. Then I got a text last night to come into work today. Woke up this morning, pain in my neck came back. I went into work anyway, and the pain only got worse.

So now I've told my supervisor - look, I can do the work, I just can't be doing any lifting or pulling heavy yokes.

She told me it won't be an issue but I'm very annoyed that it just HAD to come back when I started back work, and I do not feel like going back to the doctor for yet another course of medication and miss out on more days, especially now of all times when work is pretty scarce for me. I'm also scared in case I do go into the doctor with the same complaint and he sends me away to the worst place I can possibly imagine being in at this moment in time, the hospital, for an x-ray. So I'm just gonna have to take it easy going forward, and stick to the painkillers. I'll do anything to avoid going to a hospital

I had a severe bout of wry neck last year, could barely move. Went for 2 physio sessions, he gave me a series of movements to do every 15 minutes the first session. A week later I was much better - and kept up the exercises, though not every 15 mins, which had been tough. I'm sure there are YouTube tutorials out there!

TA'd at my elderly mother and uncle (both in 80s) are not taking social distancing at all seriously. I'm blue in the face asking them to wash their hands and stay away from shops and people.

Probably mentioned before, but the panic. We're not in a good situation, but creating mass hysteria in WhatsApp groups helps no one. Last week it was 'We're all going to die!!!!' messages, this week its about society breaking down in the economic aftermath of this. We're all under enough stress as it is without panicky people making it worse

Why is it that electricians seem incapable of putting a
Socket on a wall in a straight line. The wall is tiled, so they are
Already straight....this means you have actually go out if your way to
    Fit the socket crookedly.

I don't know if it's a TA or not. Some of my friends tell me about people online, I assume they are famous yet I never heard of them. Then they get annoyed at me because I don't know who they are talking about, heh. And start naming shows I never watch, so still in the dark. It's just strange how some people obsess about crap online.

Two of my friends work in a large supermarket. They said the amount of people completely ignoring the 'safe distance' markings and warnings is crazy. They are also getting so much abuse because of shortages caused by panic buying.

Another TA. We have toilet roll but can't find soap anywhere. Liquid or normal bars, our town has run out of soap.
