You come across as a right surly git with that plastered across an add

Everyone bar the one who buys is a time waster, cost of doing business

I'm still amazed by the quality of the pictures people put up to "show off" their car.
Things like no interior pics, portrait shot taken too close so half the car is missing and not even giving the thing a wash!

My last car I sold, spent a good half day giving it good clean inside and out and spent some time on taking decent photos, no bullsh*t in the ad just the facts.
Put the ad up Friday night, was sold Sunday afternoon.

Whenever I see any of the these buzz words mentioned I usually move on fairly quickly.

Low quality portrait photos overlaid with a snapchat filter and amazed face emojis () takes this nonsense to the next level.

See also : "CASH is king but will consider swap for Nissan Skyline, Range Rover, M5" in an Ad for something like an old Altezza.

100% with you on this. I was looking at a number of cars there on Donedeal and the "Extras" lists for dealers tend to take up nearly half the page. Then you read through it and it's not even extras it's things like height adjustable steering wheels, power steering and antilock brakes. I'm pretty sure they've been standard for quite some time

Another thing I noticed some dealers doing is just copying and pasting the car description from one car to another with such barely any details about the car and then half a page on how you can get finance, trade ins etc.

Checks photos... no buttons on or around the steering wheel.

If the seller cannot be arsed to upload more than one photo of the car. Surely if you want someone to buy your car you'd at least put up more than one photo of it.
See plenty of adverts and its 1 or 2 pictures of just the outside of the car. I would need to be seeing interior, engine bay, front back and sides at the least before I'd go view it

I don't understand this one at all (I mean I've seen it in ads, I just don't get what they're trying to achieve. Of course I'll turn up to meet a stranger with 10 grand in my back pocket for a car I probably won't buy....)

On some of the facebook groups, there seems to be a lot of lads who'll show up and feign interest in buying it to drive something like an S15 or an Evo 8 on a backroad and then heading off after they've had their fun.

I was thinking of this thread today , a lad I know has a 1992 Toyota carina with 386000 miles on clock and it's running beautiful and hes always kept it polished and body work is pristine ..

He said to me " this cars been bullet proof" that's when I thought of this thread ....

The man should have a cert to say hes allowed to use this term

"No NCT but will fly through." Then just put the fecking through.

God yeah don’t know how many ads on DoneDeal have that stated on them. (So what’s the idea, I buy your car that is out of n.c.t. with four months and tow it to a garage? I’ll then proceed to spend €500/600 on fixing up the car and put it through n.c.t.? I’ll then say a prayer that it will pass). That statement pisses me off no end too.

I love the ads where the wanker selling the car gets angry and states ‘if the car is not sold by the weekend then I’m keeping it’

I remember seeing one a few years ago where the seller came across really angry saying he had no viewers he was reducing the price till Thursday but the price was going back up on Friday and that if it wasn’t sold by the weekend then tough luck, he was taking the ad down and putting the car away for a few years. So the following week and the week after that again I kept messaging him asking him when he was taking his ad down and why he hasn’t put the price back up again. He never replied.

The ads that bug me most are the ‘not pushed on selling’ brigade...so don’t advertise it you stupid prick!!!

I saw one recently where the single posted picture was taken from inside a kitchen window of a car out in the driveway.

There are worse ones out there but this always comes as a bit silly to me.... When the seller mentions "Fresh NCT today". If I'm looking at an ad that was drafted up 65 days ago it was hardly freshly NCT'd today.

    I have two bugbears

    A) Crimes against the English language, if your (see what I did there!) trying to sell something for a few grand try to not write like a 4 year old. If English is not your first language, get someone to proof read it!

    B) Pics with the bonnet not fully shut. Did the owner just not close it, and if so why not. Or was it crashed and not repaired correctly?

    This gem has both:

    German ZV plates.

I’ve seen yellow rear German plates and plastic German plates, and German plates on an Avensis, but this is a new low.

Drives well, everything 100 per cent.

You test drive it and it's like youre having a fit.

Do they not think you'd notice or something?
