Maybe I'm being harsh but Courtois should have done better with that header

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,150 ✭✭✭✭LuckyGent88

Jesus should have buried that chance. He really needs to become more clinical. Has great movement and pace but lacks a small bit of killer finishing

Ahh come off it, as much as a push there as there was by Mane V Norwich

Pen to City. Don't know why Carvajal lunged in.

De Bruyne scores it. Even bigger away goal.

    Such a poor tackle

    Whelp, City through.

While I hate seeing City win I love seeing Real lose.

    #balance

Thought he was going down before the contact. Still a dumb tackle from Carvajal though.

Fair play to City. Deserved at least a draw, great chance now to win the tie.

Wow, what a turnaround! With Laporte going off and conceding first, I thought they were done.

Iv never understood why he hasn’t been taking the penalties. Best striker of the ball in the team.

Also would help for fantasy football!!

always nice seeing a club from a little league do well against the big boys

Them 5 mins could be the winning of the tie. 2 away goals is massive

Jesus had two hands on his back, this 'wasn't enough of a push' thing isn't that relative. He puts two hands on his back as ball is coming to him, any amount of force can put a player who is jumping back off. It's a free out all day imo.

I think City deserve it, been the better team.

De bruyne must be citys 5th or 6th peno taker at this stage of the season?!

Ramos given a red card in a first leg. History repeating itself.

I subbed him into my CL FF team as well.

Would be greedy to want the clean sweep. 3 losses out of 4 will do.

    Madrid are very poor,
If Liverpool and City avoid each other I think they'll meet in the final

Clear to see that City have prioritized the UCL over the league this year

Who was it again that said Juve start every match with a 1-0 lead because they have Ronaldo? Pretty sure I read that here last night. :pac:

    First leg summary:
Bundesliga: 3 wins out of 3.

    Serie A: 1 win, 1 draw, 1 loss.

    Ligue 1: 1 win, 1 loss.

La Liga: 1 win, 1 draw, 2 losses.

Premier League: 1 win, 3 losses.

Superb start for the Bundesliga sides so far. Mad to think last season not one of them made the last 8. The Germans tend to bounce back well from setbacks. Still only halfway through the ties of course.

Nice to see a more open field this season, albeit it's also a closed field it must be said.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 40,061 ✭✭✭✭Harry Palmr

Worth noting that only two counties has a full complement still in the competition.

Leipzig, Atalanta, Spurs, Lyon all relatively New on the scene. Lyon used to be regulars but haven't been at the level of tonight in many years

Huge win for us tonight. So tense, big performances from everyone and none moreso than Pep, the setup worked tonight. We've got... Guardiola!

Probably a smart foul by Ramos in the end, 3-1 would have been game over.

    Game is over.

And for all thats said about Ramos, without him at the back Madrid are a disaster. They will concede at least 2 in Manchester.

Madrid have only won 1 of their last 6 home games in the CL now

    CSKA (L)
    Ajax (L)
    Brugge (D)
    Galatasaray (W)
    PSG (D)
    City (L)

That's interesting - especially given that it was the CL where Zidane thrived during his first spell. Was he in charge for the CSKA or Ajax games or was it after those when he came back?

They have a chance of turning it around but I'd make City the heavy favourites after last night's result.
