    Surprised at Varane.

    Meanwhile Lyon have a pen.

    Depay with the Panenka!

    Juve need 3 goals now.

Another one chalked down to a team ****ing around tippy tapping at the back. What do I know, teams seem to love it recently

There's a time to do it, and a time to not do it. And that was a time to not do it.

Bit anticlimactic for the night though - 15 minutes in, and both ties look all but dead.

Madrid are going to rightly hammered I think. Losing so much possession too easily. City will make them pay time and time again. Reckon their heads will drop if and when city get their second.

Just a pity Ramos not playing.

That looks an awful decision to give Lyon a penalty.
    Bentancur with a super tackle??

    What a clearance from Lyon.

What is the point of VAR if they don't overturn that. I know they kind of go benefit of the doubt to the original refs decision in Europe like the NFL but that wasn't a penalty. Why wasn't the ref asked to view it like they are in the EL games last night?

Wouldn't write Juve off yet. If they can get a goal before half-time it will set the second half up nicely. Surprised Ronaldo made such a mess of that header opportunity. Looked like it came off his shoulder.

    ?

Madrid had to come and score twice anyway. That hasn't changed.

If Juve go out tonight Sarri will be sacked before he gets up off his seat at full time.

You would also have to look at all the money Juve wasted on Ronnie as well the only reason he was signed was to win them the CL.

    Delighted for Benzena.

    Benzema!

Big goal Benzema. Gives Madrid hope again.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,352 ✭✭✭✭ctrl-alt-delete

That was a nice finish to a well worked move.

the most underrated overrated player ever

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,630 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Nice Guy

Free to Juve in Ronaldo range.

Lopes denies him with a good save. I'd say he's faced a few of them in training for Portugal.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,210 ✭✭✭✭Fitz*

Hazard really does go missing once the Champions League theme music plays.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,630 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Nice Guy

Pen to Juve. Depay deemed to have handled the ball.

    Think that's harsh.

Ronaldo scores it. Juve back in it.

    Lyon shítting the bed

He might score and silence me but Gabriel Jesus is never going to take up Aguero's mantle when he leaves. They'd be better off bringing on Mahrez for him as Real are a bit dodgy down their left.

Another bad call. Two terrible pen decisions
VAR has not stopped the age old problem of refs trying to even out previous bad decisions at the peno spot

tbf if it wasn't for questionable handball penalties Juve couldn't have played competitively against Atalanta a few weeks ago so its a known tactic for them.

It looked like two wrongs to make a right, except with away goals they don't really cancel each other out. This ref looks weak and instead of VAR helping him they make it worse by refusing to overturn his bad decisions.

Jesus is not the player to take over the mantle of Aguero. The longer City maintain he is, will be a mistake I hope they continue to make.

That Juve midfield is awful, they are going nowhere with them.

    Laughable really.

No excuse for this in a VAR competition. Neither pen should have stood imo. VAR is truly gutless, not strong enough for an obvious overturn in an empty stadium?
    Come on

It's not just tonight, it's been consistent throughout this season and his career.

Even from just an output point of view:
4 non penalty goals in his overall CL career
    4 penalties scored
4 full CL campaigns without scoring (2 Chelsea, 1 Real Madrid, 1 Lille)

Tonight in his 60th appearance in the competition. That's an extremely low output.

Ha, not quite wide open, but not quite as dead as they looked earlier either.

Both teams behind still need to score 2 without reply in the second half to go through though. But at least Madrid can bring it to extra time with 1.

If there was a crowd at this game I think Juve would definitely qualify from this position. The ref is weak. The players will now try to put pressure on him to make decisions in their favour.

Neither of these sides look good enough to win a Champions League. But it's a weird one this season. Can't call this game

Wide open. I think Juve and City will prevail, could be totally wrong very easily.

    RONALDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

    WHAT A GOAL!

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,856 ✭✭✭irishguitarlad

Some goal by Ronaldo, with his weaker foot also.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 38,247 ✭✭✭✭Guy:Incognito

Thought Benzema was just going to volley that.

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,611 ✭✭✭✭ERG89

I know he's 35 but Fernandinho looks every minute of his age when playing at the back. He tried to tackle Benzema there and he was about as close to him as Pep was by the time he made it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 38,247 ✭✭✭✭Guy:Incognito

    City through.

Cant see Real getting 2 if they had another hour.

Have to laugh at that mistake and the lovely cameraman went to Ramos.....lovely work fella !!

Like the Madrid Liverpool final in 18 except this time its Madrid gifting loltastic goals to the opposition

Varane will be joining Bale in most hated people in Madrid

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,630 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Nice Guy

Can't believe Varane has had a mare.

    Varane having a Karius night!

I can't get enough of sad Ramos in the stands.

I'd love a mini Ramos cam in the corner of the screen

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 38,247 ✭✭✭✭Guy:Incognito

Carvajal couldn't have looked less interested after he lost that ball.

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,611 ✭✭✭✭ERG89

I'd have taken off Hazard instead of Rodrygo earlier. Jovic coming on is cheek at this stage.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,630 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Nice Guy

Substitute Dybala having to go off injured. Looks like it's up to Ronaldo to win it.
