Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Taking our best player off for..Brady. What?

    Robinson off?

He was our best player out there.

McCarthy when he sees his swearjar bill . . .

Mick doesn't give a FOOK about your swear jar

Hendrick has been dire the past 2 games. Hogan useless, Mcclean useless. I genuinely think Coleman is our only decent player.

    This is sad viewing.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,006 ✭✭✭edgecutter

Mick needs to blood some of the others. McClean should be off at this stage, offered very little over the two game.

    Circa 36k at this. Meh

Atmosphere really lacking but can’t blame them=![/quote]

Not a chance there’s 36k at the game. FAI creative accounting again. It’s hilarious

Robinson has been excellent tonight, only real bright spark

Honest question, would a 0-1 be seen as a success of sorts for Gibraltar?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 24,468 ✭✭✭✭lawred2

    McClean pointing pointing pointing

    and then stops running

    He's an actual dope

In fairness mick will be happy with the 1 nil.

Robinson must feel frustrated getting hauled off for Brady there, he has easily been the best player on the pitch (not saying much i know).

    Danes 4-1 up on Georgia.

Danes are boosting their goal difference, whilst we... are not.

I know H2H takes precedence, but it still feels like the kind of group where GD could come into play

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,345 ✭✭✭✭PARlance

Still no Doherty. It's becoming a travesty.

If he doesn’t come on at all, questions need to be asked

    Bizarre imo

Would love to know what he has done... McCarthy hung him out to dry after the game over there. He was under pressure from the media to play both in the lead up to it and jumped at the opportunity to make a statement when it didn't work.

Given the rankings differential, I would have thought so.

I love Mick but he got it badly wrong tonight.

Shame the pesky wind couldn't have shown up to give them an excuse for playing sh*te against Gibraltar. Again.

    Keeper .. again..

Yeah, he'll say it's ten points from four games. Shocking game so far. Lucky for you Gibraltar have nothing up front.

Coleman and Robinson are about the only two making anything happen.

    Diabolical?

    Jesus wept

How many opportunities has he had, when round the back, to put in a decent cross? How many has he actually put in? It’s one thing getting into the position to cross it but it’s no use if there’s no end product

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,563 ✭✭✭The White Feather

This is an embarrassing performance. And that's saying something when their goalkeeper just keeps kicking the ball straight out.

He takes off Robinson who looked good and leaves Doherty out completely.

He blamed the wind over there, what will he blame tonight?

That reads like Yeats or Heaney.

quote from Mick from the pre match presser: “If it ends in a scrappy 1-0 win, off somebody’s backside, I am not bothered, I will take the win.”

Step aside, Conor McGregor, we have a new Mystic Mac

Lucky for us we got that deflection because we've nothing up front either.
    This has been deplorable watching.

This is shít. O’Donoghue better drop the honeymoon routine after this. McCarthy needs to explain why Doherty is being left on the bench when the team is performing so poorly against a pub team. A desperately disappointing performance starting from a poor unimaginative team selection from McCarthy.

This is like watching United under Moyes

It's much better to watch if you pretend Gibraltar are Spain.

Yeah, they usually concede far more. Georgia hit them for three and North Macedonia scored four against them recently. Armenia scored six against them not so long ago.

Brady at right wing with Doherty left on the bench, is this a joke from McCarthy?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,656 ✭✭✭DJIMI TRARORE

As bad a performance as u will ever see,Trap,Mon,Mick no difference in them. Not one goal from 4 strikers against this lot,Gib might even equalise from their only attack in the 95th min. We seem to be waiting for a mistake rather than creating anything

  • Registered Users Posts: 653 ✭✭✭Gonad

Gibraltar are to us what we are the Denmark .

This game was perfect for taking a bit of a risk. Leaving the usual older lads out, going with O Dowda, Doherty, Cullen, etc and yet we’re still stuck in the same rut

Questions need to be asked alright. 10 points is brilliant but tonight was fookin shyte

Screw it, bring on Rhodri Giggs for the last 10 mins

What do Irish managers have against Doherty? Wasn't selected by MON either. One of the first names on the team sheet for Wolves.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,564 ✭✭✭✭whiskeyman

Great to see a rag-tag bunch of journeymen, from a small rocky outcrop putting on such a spirited performance...

And Gibraltar aren't playing too bad either!

Is Doherty going to be McCarthy's Andy Reid/Wes Hoolahan?

Doherty had to have said something or done something to pi$$ Mick off. It's the only explanation.

I actually thought wed improve as the game wore on but no dice. It's been unbelievably bad

Even Liechtenstein managed to score 2 against them at home FFS.

Looks like theres a decent crowd at the Aviva for a less than marquee game.
