I'm about to go into mediation with my ex and have been told that her pension as a civil servant, include clauses regarding divorced spouse benefits that normal private sector pensions don't have. Anyone know if this is true?

I'm a public servant and am not aware of any clauses for divorced spouses.

Have a read of the handbooks on this website http://www.cspensions.gov.ie/

I work in pensions and no matter the type of pension, if you wish to seek a share of her pension post-divorce, you will have to apply to the courts for a Pensions Adjustment Order (before the divorce is finalised). You can contact the Pensions Authority for more information - https://www.pensionsauthority.ie/en/

Civil service pensions have spousal benefits attached to them, but as far as I am aware, these fall away once divorced unless you have obtained a Pensions Adjustment Order.
