Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Was thinking about it but one of the dates I'm not free so it said to only apply if you are free for all four.

I'd say it is completely luck of the draw if you would get to see a game or not depending what you were doing. Some cool sounding jobs there though.

By the sound of it most of the positions are stewards, still I might go ahead and apply.

Why are they looking for volunteer stewards and not paying the companies that already provide stewards to grounds?

UEFA stuck for a few quid?

literally zero mention anywhere of what perks, benefits can be expected

I mean theyre looking for volunteers to maintain and run the ICT ffs.

what kind of jokers are they.

highly unlikely any of that passes muster against a NERA complaint imo

Was wondering that myself. Plus by not hiring a professional security firm I’d say you’ve a huge chance of lads binning the hivis and disappearing in to the crowd to watch a free match. I know I would.

I volunteered at Euro 2004. I know that’s a lifetime ago but there were no steward positions. In stadium volunteers showed people to their seats, assisted commentary crews, handed out info leaflets outside and showed fans to relevant gates etc.

Yeah UEFA really taking this 'footballing family' thing too far when they're essentially looking for free labour. People will end up doing this in the hope of seeing the games but chances are they won't

I worked at the australian grand prix and I sat down and watched most of it while I was supposed to be working. I had a pass that got me into most areas. I had a good view of the track.
I also worked at the winter olympics in vamcouver in 2010. I was working in the bar at the ice hockey stadium. I got to see bits of the games as very few would come to the bar when the games were on.

If Uefa are looking for volenteers I might just apply : )

He would be paid by UEFA as part of his role on their executive committee I would have thought.

Yep, €100k plus whatever other benefits comes with it.

Outside of JD and the rest, what would you wear to an interview for a volunteer role such as this?
    Shirt and jeans be ok?

I'd imagine that's fine. The interview is probably just to make sure you're not some weirdo.

Yeah, nothing formal. I was at a conference on Saturday and the Head of Volunteer recruitment, Paul Martyn, said that it is not formal and there is no need for any panic. They can hardly turn away many!
