Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Don’t think that matters with no fans

What podcasts are people listening to? Basically I’m looking for the types who would analyse lots of the underlying data, rather than those twitter superstar types who are more ‘5 options you can captain this week’ or ‘5 differentials for the week’ where it feels like a case of trying to fill space and generate clicks rather than speaking when they have something to say.
Anyone have any recommendations on this?

I've only Free Hit and was about to ask the similar question.

Any takes on the best week remaining to free hit?

Genuinely, just the week you look weakest. Making a call early will allow you to ignore that week completely in your fixture planning for transfers

I don’t listen to podcasts anymore as I don’t like the influence they have on me.

From memory ‘who got the assist’ might be what you’re looking for.

Also Joe from ‘the football fantasy scout’ seems to be very stat driven so you could listen to that and pay more attention to him.

Depends on what players you have innit.

I’ve got West Ham and Sheffield United keepers/defenders so GW 33 for me.

Same, I'm trying to follow my gut more and I feel like podcasts and being on Twitter too much sway me, sometimes in the wrong direction. My highest ranks were before fpl was so social media driven. Maybe that's a coincidence but next season, I'm going to avoid most of it. I do like the scoutcast so will probably just stick to that.

Is starting Nketiah too risky today? Or just stick with Sarr/DCL

I’d start him if I had him.

20 clean sheets in the 23 games played since the game resumed.

Fixture planning for transfers eh? :)

Remember I'm a stone cold casual now!

Was just wondering if there was a lazy option of a standout week for loading up on one sided games.

I don't think so. Earlier the better to maximise the value of it so I would say to use it right away unless there is an obvious week of need in your team.

Shoulda used it this week I think....hadn't got a standout captain. Went with Jimenez.

I guess with City playing Liverpool this week was not the ideal week. Having not seen your team, i would suggest now is the time to play it, unless you’re well placed this week already.

There’s two reasons to play your FH
    1. There’s a week with excellent fixtures that you want to load up
    2. There’s a week your players have horrible fixtures (or injuries/suspensions) that want to transfer out of.

If you’re playing it for reason 1, I think I’m going with GW36+

Chelsea (playing for CL) v relegated Norwich - Alonso, Pulisic
    City v Bournemouth - 3 players
Leicester v Sheff Utd - Vardy Party
Wolves (Playing for CL) at Burnley (nothing left to play for)
Liverpool at Arsenal (Arsenal will be done by then)

    Something like
    Patricio (3.9)
    Alonso Doherty Azipilicueta (James, Stephens)
    Pulisic KDB Foden Mahrez Mane
    Jimenez Vardy (4.3)

Then depending how things are going....
Everton home to possibly relegated Villa.
    If Villa still fighting, avoid

    Tough fixtures to choose from....
United at Palace is a tricky fixture that I’d probably be happy to have Bruno and Rashford our of my team.
West Ham/Watford - relegation scrap to avoid
    Newcastle/Spurs
Southampton/Brighton (maybe a good one for the bench)

I’d say it’s pretty unlikely Villa are relegated by GW36. Nobody is taking points and 2 of the 3 would have to take 6/7 from the next 12 points.

Unless there's a phantom double gameweek announced due to plyers testing positive and postponements.

My plan is to Free Hit in gw38+, and copy my rival's team so they can't catch me, if I'm ahead by a small margin.

I don't think the final week is good for a 'normal' free hit, it's been awful for rotation and freak results other seasons.

Things I was completely wrong about pre-restart:
    - the games will come too soon for Danny Ings to play every game.
    - Watford, Villa, Norwich, West Ham and Bournemouth will fight for their lives - 2 point from 36 between the lot of them so far

3 points from 39 to be pedantic ;)

I'm really liking this idea. My plan was to use in GW38 but that was kinda decided out of laziness. It could backfire. If those big teams you mention are still in form by then and scoring goals, it might well be my option for FH!

What if you made no transfers since GW1...would you be better or worse off? Just need to enter a league id to find out. I'm only 50 points better off...all that effort for a lousy 50 points!

I'm up 208. Though that probably speaks more to my initial team than my transfer skills (I'm looking at you Ross Barkley)
