Cheapest call per minute rates? (No plan)

I am currently paying 51c per minute and a 9c connection fee with Three to make calls. Texts are 15c.

I gave them a call to see if there are better options but not really. Don’t need a monthly plan a don’t use the phone enough to justify any of them.

Wondering if any other operators offer cheaper rates when not on a plan?

For low minutes usage, the better option is a VOIP provider but a data or WiFi connection is still required.

If WiFi over fixed broadband isn't available then ideally a 4G signal or at least a reliable 3G signal will still work.

Rates vary from half a cent to 2 or 3 cent per minute depending on the provider and call destination pattern (mobile, landline, international etc).

There are many different brands that are all owned by one company, the only difference is the price range and some charge a connection fee which obviously should be avoided as there are plenty of options with cheap rates without the connection fee.

Using something like viber or yolla could be an option if you have wifi where you are calling from. If you add up the cost of the calls and texts per month, are you sure you can't justify the cheapest plan available like the €10 plan on 48? or on Tesco Mobile, using €5 Tesco vouchers with Clubcard boost for €15 credit?
