    Hi all,
Our little fella is not baptised and we are looking at primary schools for junior infants in 2022. Has anyone any advice on schools etc? I appreciate that no school can discriminate based on whether a child is baptised or not but that may still happen.

You need to give more info on what type of school and general location you perfer, before you can get even a general answer. Local or city school, English or gealscoil, educate together, faith(which faith), mixed or single gender, etc. Most schools now tend to have a good mix of children who haven't been baptised.

I doubt if that's an issue in Limerick. As far as I know baptism certs we're a Dublin issue in heavily oversubscribed areas. Never heard of it in our locality, Raheen.

Can anyone advise if there's any gaelscoils in the city centre? As far as I know, there was one near the secondary one by the Locke, but it's moved outside of town. Are there any others?

The Modhscoil (Model) is the closest one to town.

Gaelscoil Chaladh an Treoidh is on the Dublin Road, beyond the Kilmurry Lodge.
Gaelscoil an Raithín is in Mungret these days.
Gaelscoil Sáirséal moved out to Hassett's Cross.
Gaelscoil Sheoirse Clancy is near the Roxboro Roundabout.

Sure it wouldn't be BP without some form of discrimination in there.
If its not the "foreign nationals" its the Limerick elite keeping an modh Scoil to itself ;)

    It really isn't, selective yes.
But selective and discrimatory are not the same thing.

How many of your own kids have you placed in local schools?
