We moved into our new home in North Kildare in 2016. With extreme difficulty we secured a telephone connection. We signed up with Eir BB which delivers 1mb or less which has made working from home or any internet related activity painful. Mobile signal is also very limited where we are so 4g dongle is not a great solution either.

6 months after moving in, a door to door team from Eir came to our house and told us fibre was now on our road. We asked to sign up but have been our home/eircode is simply not covered. We have pressed them to add our eircode however we are getting no where. Our home is 400 metres from the public road where the fibre pole is. We have a conduit installed so there should be no problem plugging us in, if they would agree to supply us.

Has anyone any suggestions as to how we get our home/eircode approved for fibre? Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.

The smaller ISPs have been known to go to the bother of chasing OpenEir for a database correction. Airwire and Westnet are notable names. You're wasting your time with VF/Eir/Sky.

If it was 40 metres maybe. 400 metres not a hope. Youl have to wait for the NBP unfortunately
