    Evening all,

Why do Cork and Limerick amateur radio groups have their weekly news broadcasts at the same time (8PM Mondays) ?

Cork's Mullaghanish 2m repeater (145.750 MHz ) provides great coverage across most of Co Limerick so is hugely overlapping with the above with the result that hams/listeners in the Co. Limerick have two amateur news's on at once, if they were even just half an hour apart Limerick hams and "SWLs" could listen to both news and all the call ins if they can and want to (or if they miss one news, they could perhaps hear the next!)
I suspect many (of who are covered by both repeaters) might want to be able to hear all (and participate in if they can) of BOTH call-ins especially when distant stations might be calling in due to conditions

Not sure Antenna probably to do with times that suit the clubs. But if you tune into the Southern Ireland repeater network at 9.30pm on a Tuesday evening you can also hear the IRTS news broadcast from the South east as all the Repeaters are interlinked therefore it can be picked up on any repeater close to you. Check the link below for all the info required.
