Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I don't see it in any articles?

And yet you jumped in with both feet to tell me I'm wrong and made some crazy comparison with the Paddy Jackson case.

How can they endanger an innocent kid when the scum are detained?

This was point was made yesterday, why share any pic at all then? You can't get to them. It's to recognise them when they do get out. You really don't see any danger in it?

While I'm glad they were convinced, you'd have to wonder what kind of counsel he was getting. Not a great advertisement for their services anyway.

You have no idea what legal advice he got and if he actually followed the advice.

Was always going to happen. People are genuinely stupid, "wE HavE a RiGht to KnoW" as they endanger an innocent kid.

You would think that people are clued in enough to realise that any kid they're going to harm is the wrong one on account of the guilty party being in Oberstown and all.... but then again people are absolute morons so you're probably right.

How can they endanger an innocent kid when the scum are detained?

Because some of this mob mentality crowd aren't terribly bright.

Just look back at this thread, "OMG they'll be out after 2 weeks, they'll be given new identities" and all such stupidity, much of it evident in this thread alone. I'm sure the innocent boy wasn't hatched from an egg either so he'll have family.

In our local Youthreach the youngsters have to hand in their phones in the morning. They are put in an envelope with their names on it, kept locked in a locked press in the office and not returned until classes end.
Anyone caught with a phone in their possession having failed to hand it in is suspended and their parents notified.
I think this is a good system.

I've seen this and similar in play over the years.
Most just handed in a second phone.
Unless things have changed drastically in the last few years.
The person in charge honestly believed it worked and they hadn't much of a clue what was going on.

Because people are idiots. A pediatrician was attacked in the UK because imbeciles thought she was a ''pedo''

What was the story with Boy B's phone(s)?
    He 'lost' them?

Even still, there's a chance of them being recognised in the future. Similar to the Bulger case, there's people that have dedicated a lot of time into identifying them from their pics as kids. All's it takes is for one clown to pull up the pic of the innocent kid and put 2 and 2 together and get 5.

Not to mention how stressful and upsetting it must be for the innocent kid.

Read this and you'll get your answer

Self-styled vigilantes attacked the home of a hospital paediatrician after apparently confusing her professional title with the word "paedophile", it emerged yesterday.
Dr Yvette Cloete, a specialist registrar in paediatric medicine at the Royal Gwent hospital in Newport, was forced to flee her house after vandals daubed it with graffiti in the middle of the night.

The word "paedo" was written across the front porch and door of the house she shared with her brother in the village of St Brides, south Wales.

Well expecting people not to want to see what they look like is never going to happen.

@ cityroad....i take it you're from the area?

if so...did these kids have a reputation as bad brats?

I am not local my friend has children one went to primary school with Ana and the other was bullied by Boy A and Boy B, if that child had a different personality, it could have been them.

Yes they were known, in fact her child said the same thing, 'why did she go with him?'.

From what I have been told, the kids knew they were trouble, the school did not seem to care, they certainly do not have seemed to have cared about the child I know.

In fact there was footage filmed on the mobile phone of one incident involving the child I know, the school was more concerned that the footage be deleted than a serious assault occurred in school grounds. My friend found it very weird and made sure she saved it to a few places.

He didn't say it, his father said it in court, for no apparent reason.

    Nope, I don't.

What we do know is that if he said nothing he'd be free today.

We need to pause before referencing that story...
a fairly minor graffiti incident became the source of a pervasive urban myth.

Yes but what people keep misunderstanding is it had nothing to do with phones that may or may not have been present at the murder.
It was part of him giving a character description of his son.
He attempted portray his son as careless and not very bright.

From the information from the court room, his father was giving a character reference and noted that the boy lost 2 phones and was not into social media.

For some reason, this was important for him to say in court in front of a jury.

Anything posted after the court hearing this morning is contempt of court which I believe is more serious than the offence under the children act.

Wouldn't be surprised if Boy A experienced some violence/sexual violence at home. He hardly licked it off the ground just by watching porn.

well the infamous Ted Bundy came from a straight laced christian family had a very sheltered upbringing....and he later disclosed that it was porn that was the main driving factor in his numerous murders

*and bear in mind that was at a time before internet porn

Given that you don't know his parents or his home situation that's a pretty nasty and irresponsible thing to post on a public forum.

You're throwing in a few off the point references to the sexual aspects in the last hour or so Gerry. A cynical person may think this was in some way for your own prurient gratification....

For the record, Boy A could quite easily have developed his own behaviour due to any number of psychological disorders and fostered by exposure to extreme imagery and ideations online or from other sources - the bargain basement satanism and secretive behaviour.

There has been zero suggestion anywhere of a background you are alluding to.

It's very likely that Ana was naive and innocent, despite looking older. A more streetwise girl would have smelled a rat when that yoke came looking for her and especially having to walk miles to a deserted location.
