Just needs an Applicant (over 18) that fulfils the criteria to kick the process off in getting her involuntarily admitted to hospital.
As I understand it, it's hard to do. The state is very much thinking that "people are free to make decisions even if they are bad decisions"
Very difficult for families to get help for ill siblings or parents. I can imagine it is an order of magnitude harder for a random punter to make their case.

It’s terrible really. I remember Gemma from years ago when she was still working as a journalist. I remember hearing her speak a few times and being really impressed by her. To see her reduced to this pathetic creature seeing conspiracies everywhere is very sad.

That kind of thing doesnt just happen.
I reckon, during her work as an investigative journalist, she came across things she shouldn't have.

Would explain why she was castigated so unceremoniously.

It makes more sense than ' racist ', and all that claptrap. Very odd there's so many internet folk willing to destroy her. Weird.

What's the story with the traffic warden that lost her job? I think she's Patricia McCafferty.

She harassed colleagues and was fired.
The below covers some of it

Seemingly that was the tip of the iceberg

You've seen the posts explaining why people have a problem with her and with her views - including racist views - but won't engage with them, and just keep saying she's grand.

But the rest of us are all here as part of some anti-Gemma conspiracy.

    Riiiight...

He asked her to leave the shop fair enough it's private property but when she leave the shop the man continues to ask her to leave even though at this point she is now on a public footpath.

Fan? I never said that. If I have any feelings either way, its distaste for the people who are vilifying her (and Katie Hokins) , because I don't see any good reason. As soon as I hear ' racist ' being levelled at anyone...I know there's going to be some very poor arguments being made, often by simpletons.

There was an interview with a Swedish woman on YT, with Gemma. She came across as sincere and reasonable. I also see on her party website ' anti-courruption Ireland ' , their core tenets. Nothing outlandish there ( some are probably impractical, but nothing like the ' right wing' loons they are made out to be by people like yourself ).

What I see is a woman who probably took issues with certain people in powerful positions. She may also have had some personal issues at some point ( I believe her husband passed away ) . Looks like she was goaded into making remarks she would not have otherwise, remarks that don't represent her beliefs, and has since been hung out to dry for doing that. Just like Denis O'Brien/ George Hook and many others who were setup by spiteful people on social media.

And all of it comes down to a failing business model within mainstream media, that relies heavily on advertisers... advertisers who dont want anything remotely contentious associated with their brand...which in turn creates this bubble of virtue, that ' lefties ' are incapable of seeing for what it is. They actually believe all of that ' racist ' ..nonsense. No critical thinking skills.

I also see she is a colleague of John Waters...he always had reasonable things to say. - when it it was possible to have open discussions about the direction the country and Europe is going in. Its not possible any more, for the reasons I have mentioned.
This is brilliant. Professional quality parody. Hats off to you, sir. Waterford Whispers couldn't do better.

Just on the off-chance that you're vaguely serious, check out the recent video of Gemma threatening the lads who are fixing the footpath at the graveyard, that they're all going to 'face justice' when her revolution happens.

Is that the voice of reason?

She came back having been escorted from the shop. I imagine she wanted to get back in? Is that not obvious?

It’s quite obvious she went back for seconds and he stood at his door to top her from coming back in and harassing staff and customers.

She is a pest and should be treat as such

you are actually right to a point, she did come across things she shouldn't have.

however then she became a tinfoil hat wearing loon harassing people abusing cops and being a nuisance

When that toxic idiot is wailing her nonsense then it's no unfair of him to ask her to move on. It's a public footpath so she doesn't have to but nobody wants that loon around their place of business.

I met a black Gemma O'Doherty and John Waters fan at work the other week. I was slightly incredulous but he said he was prepared to overlook some of their views because he liked most of them. He gave me a print out to take home.

"Are you from this country?" What has that got to do with the rights/wrongs of wearing masks.
"It's a free market" but she berates him for making a profit in a free market. Next thing she'll be asking him to sell sausages.

When he said he was from this country she immediately changed tack to well then you know how corrupt the government is. It’s surely only a matter of time before she pushes the wrong person and gets a hiding. If you go around looking to annoy people at some stage you annoy the wrong person.

Fair play to her....at least someone has the courage to protest against the gradual erosion of personal freedoms. They may not be easily undone when all of this is over.

They don't make women like her anymore. Principled, ballsy...and still quite charming. I do have a thing for privately educated blondes though... :pac:

Whats needed is some open debate with Gemma and her...' detractors ' . When you ostracise someone/ or a group ... their views can become more warped as a result. But they didn't start off that way.

Open debate where good ideas trump bad ideas is whats needed. Does such a platform exist anymore?. It would seem not.

Note - Tin Foil hat posturing is as much a marketing strategy as anything else.

Well I don't know about you, but I'd class going up to randomers in the street and shouting abuse at them because they're less white than you as racist.

This is all on video - she's videoed it herself and it's on multiple occasions at various places around the country.

She is not right in the head. But people who defend that vile carry-on are worse.

Fingal County Council are certainly not competent to be making decisions about the most important piece of infrastructure on the island. They need to stick to badly designed cycle lanes and deciding on whether Mrs Murphy can have her kitchen extension.

Wearing masks during a global pandemic is a necessary precaution. I would say choosing not to is more incredible stupidity. Also it shows a complete disregard for the health of others. We have the highest amount of cystic fibrosis in the globe and vulnerable groups like that are placed in immense risk by idiots.

Up until recently, nobody could agree on the efficacy of masks.

Now they do. But the science hasn't changed - just the interpretation of it.

I actually agree everyone should wear a mask, but they only work if everyone wears one.

I also support protesting against masks. Reminds me that we live in a country where not everyone is a mindless automaton.

Even LGBTQ people ( who enjoy some of the greatest legal protections of any social group ) ..think Gay Pride is an embarrassment.
