Surely meant 2.59.59

I saw a guy who ran a one second neg split 3.00.01 in Stockholm last year in 30 degrees the whole way. When I asked him about it on Strava he explained that he was only trying to squeeze out a sub3 to get a decent pen in Berlin or something. He's much faster than 2.59 but still though, imagine glancing down at the watch at the finish line!

It's been so long since I've done the DCM I feel like a first-timer again (:eek:).

Staying in Ballsbridge - can anyone recommend somewhere suitable for a pre-marathon meal??

dollard and co do some nice dishes and it is not formal, its like a NY style place with various counters where u go up order what u want and they'll drop it down to you.

they have pasta, pizza, steak etc

if u were getting pasta I would prob recommend it as the portions I had there before were quite generous whereas in actual Italian restaurants u may get nicer food but less carbs (smaller portions)

I think something relatively light is probably the best option - pizza and me are no longer buddies in terms of digestion.

Ideally a reasonably priced Asian-fusion style meal might suit me best possibly

Not sure if it got mentioned here but parkrite on Drury St. are doing a marathon day car park special for 8 euro for the day. Car park opens at 5:30 so looks a good option. You need to prebook on parkrite.ie. I've usually used Stephen's Green but this year the price is 30 quid, I am fairly sure it was around half that price in previous years.

The 20k and 40k are new alright. Nice to have for better tracking and post-race split analysis!
