    Hi all,

Is it possible to add a wireless camera to an DVR that uses POE?

We have a barm 20 meters away from house and no way to run a Cat6 cable to it but want to add a camera there.

Have you power in the barn? Assuming you do, the challenge is in getting that wireless signal into the DVR box, and off the top of my head I can't think of a balun for that. Does the DVR support any other types of connections? Ethernet or BNC?

    Thanks Spocker.
Yea the DVR would be connected to the router via Ethernet.

Theres electric in the barn yep.

OK, so the ethernet connection is how you're able to access the DVR from your phone. How are all the existing cameras connected to the DVR? Can you post a pic of the back or a model number?

If the DVR has POE ports for the cameras, then it must be an NVR with support for IP. If the wireless camera is on the network and the NVR is on the network have you tried adding it to the NVR by typeing in the ip address of the wireless camera. Most NVR will support wireless cameras
