They always lose stream as teams get knocked out so we maybe need to look at a different setup to the knockout system.

As players get knocked out the tend to just leave the game and not vote in later rounds.

Maybe an overall thread with all teams posted and people vote for their preference in order. Then we average out the positions in each vote for a final leage table?

Any thoughts on this?

I've only done the one draft on here so I don't have much to input.

Can't remember exactly how the last ones ran but always got the impression people who weren't involved didn't have as much of an interest in the tactic side of it and just preferred seeing who each person picked.

Could do like 2 groups of 8 with a poll in each - top 2 from each group into a semi? I would be happy with whatever, just a suggestion. Also like the idea of linking it to the euros!

The groups were a good addition to the last one. 2 groups and a final or semi finals, as suggested, could work in terms of keeping interest.

Yeah I think the groups did help last time. tbh I'd be happy enough with a similar structure to last year. You would hope the fact that most of the people signing up might mean that we might keep interest / continue to follow games be they semi-finals & finals or whatever.

Might be a good idea to discuss the rules / format now beforehand.

Current ability? Is there a legends round? Is there also a non EU or Non Qualified round to balance out the legends round? Is it reverse order every second round? etc

I think reverse order every second round works best.

For legends round maybe have it based on the players international career, eg players like Klose? I think a non Euro player round is a good idea also

A Euro's legend round could be good? Past player who played in the Euro's, could base it on international (OR even Euro's specific) form as above.

If something like that is happening I'd say do it in round 4 and then another stip in round 5 such as maybe someone named in another current international squad outside of the qualifiers maybe and then you can be guaranteed a few good players while not overly diluting the pool that have been picked with great players.

Even earlier maybe, 2 and 3?

Right, the listed posted previously about playing. If you're listed and still want to play, thank this post.


I'llpropose a format/rules. If people don't like it, we can thrash it out.


We have 12 players, so after picking, split into 4 groups of 3. Vote for who tops each group, then 2 semis and a final.


Picking order will be randomised, and reversed every second round.


Any player called up for a side for Euro 2020 is valid. Big question is whether to go by current form or overall-career form (ie, take the player at their peak). I'll make 2 posts below this, one for each. Thank the option you would prefer. Only thanks from posters participating will count.



I propose 2 special rounds: Euro Legends and Current non-UEFA players.


Euro Legends: Retired players, who played in a a previous Euros. Form based on total international form


Current non-UEFA players: Any player who has received a cap for a non-UEFA based team in the last year (Since 1/6/2020). Form based on whatever we decide for the overall tournament.

I propose we run the special rounds in turn 4 and 5.

Think it should be current form if it's a current draft as then you wouldn't really be able to have any young players but happy to cede to the majority
