Even Fox News, in a report dated 22nd July, says that Trump has failed to build a single mile of his promised wall. No new wall/fencing has been built; the only fencing that has been built has been in places where a fence already existed.

    https://www.foxnews.com/politics/trump-has-not-built-a-single-mile-of-new-border-fence-agency-confirms

And some people still come on here and try to spread his line of BS that they are building the wall... Total con job..

Ever since Trump stuck his nose into that AOC and Pelosi cat fight things have been on a massive downward spiral, it's genuinely the first time since he got elected I feel like he's in serious trouble both politically and mentally. The stuff he's coming out with lately is just beyond bizarre.

It’s nice to see you admit that. But it’s been an awful long time coming IMO. I’m curious as to where the line was for you?

It seems some people haven’t got there yet and I don’t understand why. Cancelling a trip to Denmark because the prime minister was mean, that’s beyond lunacy.

If he is suffering from some kind of mental degradation, the huge stress and pressure of the upcoming general election battle will probably only exacerbate that. It is a tough time even for people at the top of their game, so who knows what effects it could have on Trump, especially someone as narcissistic as him who seems to consider being called a "loser" the worst possible insult.

He has just stood up the Queen of Denmark, for that is where the invite for the state visit came from.

What a way to treat an ally, but he fawns over KJU and glows about the lovely letters he receives at the same time as excusing away missile launches.

He treated TM exactly the same, before his fawning over how great the Queen was, so much for democracy!

I'm not a staunch Trump supporter, at least I haven't been for a long time. I'd say a year ago is when my opinion started to change a lot. As time's gone on he's gotten far more reckless and less coherent. There's no way there isn't something wrong with him mentally given how he talks, it's embarrassing.

My real interest was in the Russia investigation and the surveillance that went on, I didn't think there was a conspiracy and people wrongly equate that to being some Trumpbot, to the best of my knowledge I never defended his character and have criticized him plenty.

Culture war in the US is a huge thing even before you get onto policy, I'm convinced it's one of the main reasons he won and why he might win again in 2020. For that alone and as hollow as it sounds he'll still be a force. As bad as one side is there's a bunch of bad things on the other side too. There's clips of Democratic socialist meetings and they're like a bunch of toddlers arguing over pronouns and the like.

The bold bit I agree, it's just daft. The AOC / Pelosi thing was even more idiotic. You don't come out and try to force things down peoples throats, it was brewing up nicely and left alone it would have been a good thing for the Republicans and very distracting for the Democrats.

Notice that the PM of Denmark was described as 'nasty.' The term Trump uses for all women that disagree with him. Hopefully this trashes more of his vote with women, too. Wasn't Megyn Kelly, ex Fox and CNN, also 'nasty' during an interview?

This will be one of the posts that makes me look like I'm defending Trump. He uses the word "nasty" on both men and women frequently. Some examples ( I've put an x before some of them not to spam the thread. )

And here we go again with yet more needless twisting of Trump's words.

He did NOT "describe" the PM of Denmark as nasty.... he referred to what she said as nasty.
"I thought that the prime's statement that it was absurd, that it was an absurd idea was nasty

You're not alone though, Igotadose, you have good company as the BBC has said:

Yes, let's debate the trivial content of the words of a president who just blew off a state visit, cos they wouldn't entertain his (leaked) harebrained idea to buy some of their land. While also making swipes about NATO and the Danes' contributions - like he does everytime a European member thereof comes up.

Wood for the trees scenario here.

Well obviously that should be the point debated, I just disbelieve that there's some misogynistic angle to it. I'd say the angle is more in the idiotic reckless territory.

And here we go again with yet more needless twisting of Trump's words.

No words were twisted: He used the word "Nasty" to describe the PM's response. If you think the issue is about rank, whether its worse to call a person 'nasty' or their words 'nasty', that's on you.

Again: He called the PM's reasoned response to his absurd suggestion "Nasty".

And a nice bit of projection from Trump -

Mr. Trump asserted he was taking umbrage on behalf of his nation.

“She’s not talking to me, she’s talking to the United States of America,” he said. “They can’t say ‘how absurd.’ ”

No Donald, she was talking about YOU, not America.

He's stood up the queen of Denmark and all the bells and whistles(we know how much he likes that stuff) because shockingly a PM rightly rejected his stupid suggestion about Greenland.

  • Registered Users Posts: 39,832 ✭✭✭✭Itssoeasy

Also, has he clarified who exactly Jewish voters would be disloyal to if they voted for democrats ?

This man is not well. And his behaviour towards Denmark has disgraced his office.

No comment on Trump's hissy fit cancelling his visit to Denmark or his remarks about the vast majority of American jews then?

  • Registered Users Posts: 858 ✭✭✭one armed dwarf

Like, even if you argue that he was calling her words nasty and not the PM herself, who even cares. It's still extremely bad form that he throws a tantrum over things like this.

It was the same when he told the Congresswomen to return to their own counteies. Crying about semantics and the libs taking his words out of context (they weren't) is such a tired and pathetic distraction technique by now.

He now has raised the level of interest in O'Bama's visit to Denmark next month.

I wonder how his Evangelical base will react to him calling himself the chosen one ?

Sure they have said he was sent by God etc, that he is Gods chosen one, part of his plan and blah blah blah

He has lost it. He cannot keep a coherent train of thought in his head while speaking. He is desperately trying to repeat some arguments he may have heard on Fox the night before - they sounded so convincing - but just cannot get the wording right.

Or even the Jewish people whom he mentioned in respect of their voting Democrat. Seeing as how they have rejected his interpretation of them in the US, I can't help wondering how their fellows in Israel are reacting to both of his self-serving quotes, more particularly the "chosen one" quote, in reference to what could happen if some-one took serious offence to it and not treat it with the disdain it deserves.

Not one to support the moron, but the 'I am the chosen one' line was clearly a joke, focusing on it only takes the spotlight off the serious BS he spouts.

True enough but I think he's totally ignorant to how dangerous the wild tiger he's riding on can be to him and in the meantime its the bystanders who are being clawed. He's totally ignoring the deliberate damage he's causing with his words.

Trump was struggling to properly pronounce simple words today, worse the before. I think his brain is cooked. If he makes it to 2020 he will be cause chaos....

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,171 ✭✭✭Stallingrad

So as he throws his Greenland chum into the water and laughs at the ensuing media frenzy what stories are barely being reported on?

"Migrant families who cross the southern border of the US illegally could be detained indefinitely under a new regulation announced by the Trump administration."

"Weakening of the endangered species act."

The media so want to portray him as an idiot they miss the real story. Every. F••king. Time.

Tbf I have seen plenty of coverage on both of the above.

At this point I think pretty much everybody is wise to his act, they only focus on it at all because people like to watch it and laugh, either due to what he is saying being ridiculous, or because he is "triggering the libs" - either way people tune in.
