He just talked about his golf course in the UK - Doonbeg.

FFS. And was he asked about doonbeg or was it just a pit stop on what I'm assuming was a rambling mess of a press conference.

Think someone asked him if he'd screw over the UK with a trade deal and he rambled on about how much he loves the UK and his golf courses in Turnberry and Doonbeg. :o

Don's approval rating slips to 36%, lowest since January. I expect some distractionary tactics soon

We've actually had one conversion recently but there seems to be a lull in the north Korean newsreader-esque posts from 'them'

Interesting story covered late last week about Neal's quest for Trump's taxes. Filed away under exhibit "QQ" was information relating to a whistleblower in the IRS who says that there are shenanigans afoot in the "auditing" of his taxes. The Secretary has proof which has been offered up to the Court.

Again, another scandal that would sink an ordinary administration, but sure, go ahead and throw it onto the 2 storey high pile regarding this dumpster fire.

So, Neal says repeatedly up to June that his Committee needs to see Trumps tax returns as there were concerns that undue influence may have been brought to bear on IRS auditors. Rettig says in May that such assertions are 'unfounded'. Then in June/July, unsolicited evidence was provided to Neal that supported claims of undue influence. What does Mnuchin do? Provide Neal's committee with the information requested? NO! He passes it all off to the internal inspectors to investigate, thereby stymying further disclosure...

What a totally totally corrupt Administration! Putin and his lot could actually learn a thing or two from it!

I didn't believe this until he denied it.

His supporters online are saying "why is the media obsessed with Trump" and "he donated some of his salary - no one talks about that".

JFC - its hard to understand what goes through their heads.

That's interesting - it's not the view of the Pentagon:
the Pentagon ... has been warning for years that climate change poses a critical national security threat.
    ...
For more than a decade, military leaders have said that extreme weather patterns and rising sea levels are aggravating social tensions, destabilizing regions and feeding the rise of extremist groups.
    ...
Closer to home, scientists estimate that rising sea levels threaten at least 128 U.S. military bases, some of which are already flooding.
A "critical national security threat" that is climate change, which is a problem that can only be solved globally, is not the right topic to bring up at a meeting of world leaders?

David Koch might be dead, but his campaign contributions continue to pay for themselves.

Appalling comment and a view into what’s happening in the mindset of the Republican Party.
That said I wish in of the dem nominees would go after trump as brutally as this guy had in other tweets and interviews calling him a coward and unfit to office

And to add to trump woes ordinary Americans aren’t buying his economy waffle. This is what to keep an eye on in the campaign. And we’re a year out. He’s on shifting sands

Embarrassed to post this pic ,but they say a picture paints a thousand words.(and it's a good one)

Was it just the sly photographer or is there anything to that? Does she find him as repellent as others ? (she deserves what she has ,I'd assume)

Is that Melania pouting the catwalk come-on to Justin? No sign of a frosty relationship between US and Canada there! Jeez, Don'll be bullin'! That's two Trumps women falling for Trudeau's charms! Remember when Ivanka was melting before him at the White House!

    Great photo though!

Remembering also that famous clip from his inauguration an he was turned to say something to her from the podium and she was smiling at him and when he turned away her face went totally sour into a death stare. That was gold

Trump will be announcing a new wall along the Canadian border this evening

It seems, from a press PR event between Don and Emmanuel in Biarritz, that all is lovvy-duvvy between then where Iran is concerned and Don will be considering a deal covering the issue of Iran's nuclear desires - brokered by Emmanuel - with Iran. If what was said is both true and correct, Don may be going home with a feather in his cap. I'm wondering what colour John Bolton sees in the feather.

If, and I stress, if it is true he has climbed down and begun to deal with Iran diplomatically that would be great....though you'd fully expect him to go back on any commitment made as soon as he gets back stateside.

Also, ties nicely into his campaign of creating problems then fixing them while painting it as "getting things done"

"People say ‘go with the flow’ but do you know what goes with the flow? Dead fish."

I agree fully that it would be great if the US gets back on board with a diplomatic approach to dealing with Iran''s nuclear ambitions.

However, I can't see how Trump is going to get a scintilla of an improvement over the previously negotiated Obama deal that Trump railed against for so long. That said, if a few different words here or there satisfy the boy child and make the Middle East a bit less hostile, then I wish Macron mucho success..

Ah, but will it be a "great big beautiful wall" and will Canada be paying for it?

So, Trump tried to re-write history to suggest that Russia was expelled from the G8 (thereby creating the G7) because he (Putin) had embarrassed Obama....

Well, thankfully we have Fox, or specifically the courageous Shep Smith, who cut to the chase thus:

“President Trump says the Russians were removed from the group because President Putin outsmarted President Obama,” Smith said. “That is not true.”

He pointed out, “The decision to remove Russia from the group was unanimous. The reason? Putin invaded and annexed Crimea.”

    Mic drop!

I just find this so dodgy tbh
    https://www.ft.com/content/cf9962ba-c7da-11e9-af46-b09e8bfe60c0

You're friends with Trump and ask him to say a small thing about trade talks and bang your stocks rise.

There is no question/doubt in my mind that someone is making a killing at the stock markets due to Trumps words and I expect the Trump organisation is well aware of it and probably taking some shadowily involvement in it

Sry, but theres no point in posting stuff that's behind a firewall if the rest of us can't access it.

I'm not saying you're wrong or anything, but I can't see the source of the information upon which you are making your observation.

Shepard Smith and Chris Wallace are about the only actual journalists on Fox. Trump has gone after Smith numerous times on Twitter, which shows that Smith is actually doing his job, unlike the other Trump worshippers.

In a nutshell, Trump said that the Chinese trade team reached out first to the Americans & that they very badly want a trade deal & the S&P jumped over 1% on the day

The major issue with that I have is that China didn't 'reach out' or call him.

Three other major porkies that have arisen from the G7.

Trump claimed that he had to meet the German and Indian leaders, and thus had to miss the meeting on Climate change. Unfortunately both Merkle and Modi were pictured at said climate meeting.
    https://www.salon.com/2019/08/26/president-trump-skips-g7-meeting-on-climate-change-and-his-excuse-makes-no-sense/

He then went on to say that first lady Melania had 'gotten to know' NK despot Kim Jong Un, then the white house had to issue this statement

“President Trump confides in his wife on many issues including the detailed elements of his strong relationship with Chairman Kim—and while the first lady hasn’t met him, the president feels like she’s gotten to know him too,” Grisham said.

    https://www.vanityfair.com/news/2019/08/melania-trump-kim-jong-un

and the third is that it was Obama's fault that Russia annexed Crimea.

What sort of long term damage is trump doing with all this kamikaze stuff

Or can it even be evaluated yet?

You think any Trump supporter is actually going to have any qualms about Trump using his position to enrich himself?

    That boat sailed long ago.

Maybe the residents and club members might object to being "evacuated" to another location by the US Secret Service and Homeland Security on the insistence of the foreign visitors security services, scuppering any plan to use of Mar-el-largo for the G7 meeting. Making deals with one Trump is hard enough for the visitors without the fan-club getting a look-in trying to get signatures on pieces of paper.
