Apparently Deutsche don't have any personal account records for Trump, they destroyed them years ago

    https://www.nytimes.com/2019/10/10/business/deutsche-bank-trump-tax-returns.html#click=https://t.co/tC1wqOQFuV

Seems just slightly fishy, and certainly wouldn't line up with standard accounting practices I would think?

Why would a bank have your 'personal' tax returns? Surely the Feds(IRS) have his returns?

edit: The article headline mentions his "tax returns", not his account records.

As I understood from the previous reports it was suggested that Trump had provided details of his tax returns to the bank as part of a loan application process.

Perhaps more a "statement of earnings" rather than a detailed tax return.

Tax returns have to be handed over.

Theoretically, the SC could hear the appeal, but they can decline to do so. Plus, the general consensus is that they would direct them to be handed over anyway

That makes some sense, but would it have any legal standing?

Also, I would expect the language from the court to be specific: it seems the newspapers are putting their own interpretation into what's being talked about. There should be no questions about what Trump declared in his 1040, the IRS know this. That's what I find odd about this whole "show us your tax returns" thing.

Of course that won’t stop Trump from trying to bluster up an appeal to them. Whether Roberts takes the case or not is another matter

The estate of Prince, the late singer, had requested that Trump not use his music, last year. They played Purple Rain again last night before the Trump rally. Just no respect for what is, someone else's property.

Does that clown at the front and the clowns in the background have no idea how second rate this makes the US look?

Be interesting to see what Schiff & Co can get from Yovanovitch and spin to the media later.

Reports she apparently spied on John Solomon, doubt we'll get any confirmation on that today though.

Because that sounds like a scurrilous rumor Solomon would perpetuate

Her prepared statement speaks for itself.

Just watching this border patrol agent and he was saying that the new barrier wall has already significantly reduced the number of illegal crossings and human trafficking. Phenomenal news considering the amount of money cartels along the Mexican border have been making down the years from such activities. A major reason why Trump deserves another four years.

How much new wall has been built?

Why don't you just accept the word of a pro-trump CBP agent on a video directly shared by the Trump WH? You're what is wrong with America!

A more relevant point of her testimony is how it will bear on the decisions made by the GOP members of the committee in respect of deciding to defend - or not to defend - their party representative in the White House and his known unspun history.

If Ambassador Sondland testifies in defiance of Don's orders as well, and his testimony contradicts the text messages he sent to the other US ambassadors, he stands the chance of being double-damned for his actions.

What is the "old" border barrier? Is it really just a load of those Normandy yokes?

Is there an independent source which shows where these new parts of the border are being built and which parts are just replacements (and replacements of what?).

Given the obvious difference between both sets of anti-smuggling systems, I hope the BPS have people on the ground 24/7 by the Normandy [tank trap] barriers to prevent any illegal crossings along that stretch of the border given the obvious choice on where to cross safely unhindered. If there is no 24/7 BPS presence there, it'd make a mockery of the reduction in smuggling stats he's just given "this set of anti-smuggling fence works just fine, just don't look at the other set we're using to STOP smuggling". A lot of the talk from Don about an invading army centred around an area of the border with both Govts having security and customs agents working an established crossing point for decades. Imagine what would have happened if the invading army had decided to head for an undefended crossing area instead.

Idle gossip sounds a lot nicer than what I thought.

Trump supporters have nothing left but little BS conspiracy theories and gaslighting about a ****ing wall that was promised 3 years ago, hasn't been built, that he shut down the government for, that Mexico ISN'T going to pay for and that he embarrassed himself over in a call to the Mexican President where he begged not to be scolded in public about.

His supporters post one or two pieces of nonsense once in a while and then run away whenever they are challenged.

Trump and his *second* personal lawyer are up to their necks in it and this time they can't bluster their way out of it. It's fantastic.

QUICK! TALK ABOUT THE WALL... RATHER THAN MORE WHISTLEBLOWERS COMING FORWARD, THE FORMER UKRAINIAN AMBASSADOR SH1TTING ALL OVER RUDY AND TRUMP, IMPEACHMENT, THE DEFICIT, RUDY BEING THE SUBJECT OF A CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION etc etc.

    Hilarious.

I assume that as the NYT have published that document, it may be verbatim the record that should be officially available from Congress. I note the part where she mentioned her oath to defend the constitution "I have stayed true to the oath that Foreign Service Officers take and observe every day: “that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic;”

Yovanovitch's opening statement is unsurprisingly diplomatic: but it contains an unusually specific mention of Giuliani associates as being particularly put out over her efforts against corruption.

Eh, no need to shout, and I have been commenting on all of the above for the last week, what the hell are you on about? Oh and in case you want to spin it that your post was directed at the White House twitter account, it too has been commenting on all those issues, but sure keep pretending that's not the case if you like, no doubt you'll get the usual line of backslaps regardless.
    Hilarious.

    Indeed.

Trump lost the appeal on the subpoena of his tax returns in the Mazar's case: https://thehill.com/homenews/house/465423-pelosi-calls-court-ruling-in-fight-for-trump-financial-records-a-validation-of

FWIW his team (Sekulow) have a week to decide whether to try & take the case to the SCOTUS.

Nary a mention of the fact that she walked freely into Congress to make her submissions without handcuffs or escort to ensure she turned up for the "alleged trial" the committee are holding on Don or that the State Dept did not want her to attend the sitting, making rubbish of the spin against Schiff, so nothing has changed there. Just out of interest, are there any GOP Congress-persons sitting and present on the committee seats when it's in session taking testimony? I tried to get an answer to that question on the net without success.
