You are going to get it, that how a debate forum works.
Typical posting style there. Recommending a video by Carl Benjamin is now "posting videos by extremists"?

    Good luck.

Yes it is. Carl Benjamin is an extremist. A right wing extremist, the fact you don’t believe that is exactly the problem I’m attempting to address.

And round and round we go. Show me examples of why he should be...sorry..."is" classed as a right wing extremist? Is he a fascist too?

Or is it that you just don't like his opinion?

Are vox and vice left wing extremists? Or are they ok because they are more to your taste?

A debating forum works by advising others not to post in it? Good stuff.

It works by people disagreeing. If you don’t want someone to disagree, don’t post.

Carl Benjamin is a right wing extremist because he states opinions that are extremely right wing. He’s not a facist, I never said he was.

Vox and Vice aren’t people. Some of their journalists may be left wing extremists, but I don’t really know. I don’t read either very often. Except for music reviews on Vox.

Cool. So can you tell me his extremely right wing views?

And if he is not fascist, why would antifa try to shut down talks by him? Seems odd that a self proclaimed anti fascist group would target a non fascist?!?!

And for balance, can you name me a few left wing extremists commentators (outside of politicians)

See there is the problem with people like you. Extremists used to be a word reserved for terrorists and actual lunatics. But much like racist, Nazi, fascist, assault etc, you have diluted the meaning of the word to such an extent that the word means nothing anymore.

Anders Breivik and Carl Benjamin: two right wing extremists.

The trouble with you is you keep using the phrase “people like you”. You love to group people into little boxes. Carl Benjamin and Anderson Breivik are both right wing extremists, just one is more extreme. It’s easy to deal with.

The reason I use the phrase "people like you" is because I mean people like you.

And without a hint of irony or self awareness, you admonish me for grouping people into boxes and follow it up by grouping people into boxes.

No offence here, but you Either want to argue for arguing sake or are completely unable to comprehend the very simple points I’m making.

Political beliefs are a spectrum. Far right isn’t a box, it’s a set of common beliefs.

I didn't even want to discuss Carl Benjamin with you, never mind argue with you. My comprehension is fine. It's your ridiculous claims about him being a right wing extremist, while not hard to comprehend, is baffling.

I don't agree with a large chunk of what he says but he is almost always entertaining to listen to. But to call him an extremist? Pathetic.
    Brian? wrote:

Indeed. A spectrum that means nothing. Most people believe they are centrist because they believe they are balanced.

I could argue that I am centrist and you would say I'm right wing. A person who is more liberal than you could say your stances on issues are right wing making you right wing to them

Who is to decide what is extreme? If you are anti abortion, anti illegal immigration, and pro capitalism, a supporter of trump/conservatives, that's enough to get you labeled an extremist these days.

    It's laughable.

YouTube, twitter , Facebook etc are banning people daily. Boards has even started to swing the ban hammer and "wrong" opinion posters.

Censorship and fascism is alive and well

Banning people from social media isn't fascism chief. Censorship? Yes.

Let's not water down the word fascism any more than it has been

Banning people from social media isn't fascism or censorship. It's a private companies rules and regulations. The main thing is these companies are basically advertising businesses. Companies don't want their ads associated with youtubers who publish hateful, racist or other disgusting cintent.

It is the very definition of censorship. It's not fascism

Haha. The lack of self awareness is staggering.

If it's okay to refer to so called "right wing extremists" as a group then it should be okay to refer to "leftists" or indeed "left wing extremists" collectively.

It isn't censorship or facism. These companies are private money making entities with no public liability they have a right define their own terms and conditions and they can prevent anyone from using their services if they see fit to do so. And to be honest if you actually looked at the rules on those platforms and the stated reasons why various people were removed, MOST of the time it has little to do with politics or more to do with people not being able to follow the rules like everyone else, at least on boards anyway.

If a political party wanted to put up a big billboard on your land and you refused would that be censorship? Of course not, it's your land.

Yes that's fair enough. There are big calls to move right wing views to bitchute now as they aren't welcome on the above companies anymore.
    Take the ban power away.

Haha. The lack of self awareness is staggering.

I’m extremely self aware thanks. Your lack of comprehension is staggering if you think I’m not.
If it's okay to refer to so called "right wing extremists" as a group then it should be okay to refer to "leftists" or indeed "left wing extremists" collectively.

Leftists: not really. Because it’s doesn't really mean anything. It’s far to broad a description for my liking. An anarchist and a social democrat can both rightly be called leftists. They don’t really have a lot in common though.

Left wing extremists: grand yeah. Fire away. I don’t see the problem. But it’s still not a great description. Leninists and libertarian socialists are both left wing extremists. They would disagree on a huge amount.

I’m a left wing extremist. See that for self awareness. I’m also a pacifist, which is an extremism in itself.

Some people see extremism as a problem no matter what the form. I don’t. It’s just a handy way to describe someone.

Jehovah witnesses are extremists. They’re no harm to anyone though.

Carl Benjamin is a right wing extremist. I can’t think of a better description. His views are extremely right wing. He’s not a fascist, neo Nazi etc. . He may be alt right, but even that’s a pretty loose term. So I used the description that fits best in my mind.

The thing is, there are certain posters on this site that actively engage in spouting the same points and claims of those banned social media accounts. And guess what, it's more often than not racist and includes plenty of dishonest claims. George Soros conspiracies (including claiming he was a nazi collaborator), great replacement conspiracies, targeting of politicians because of their race..(Our resident Gemma O'Doherty among them) So it's no surprise when they get banned for violating the terms and conditions.

Anti mass migration and globalism tends to be more of a way to portray selves as asking reasonable questions, when they're closer to ethnonationalists or white nationalists in terms of their viewpoints.

It’s actually a spectrum that’s handy to describe politics of individuals. Just because you seem to think that describing someone as extreme right is pejorative, doesn’t make my observation any less valid.

I wasn’t using it as a pejorative, I was using it as a description. It’s pretty accurate. Did you read the rational wiki I linked?

Conservatives aren’t extremists. They’re right wing. See how easy this is?

Exactly. Take it off the big sites. Wrong opinion for those kind of places. Strange to see the left on the side of giant multinationals and supporting their power to choose what type of opinion is allowed.

The same left that protest these multinationals every other day of the week. Each to their own I suppose
