You equate racial hatred/white supremacy with a political ideology, communism/socialism. That's pretty ignorant and telling IMO. The idea behind the soviet union was a political ideology of equality. The Nazis had a different agenda. What the USSR turned into, a dictatorship, has no baring on the ideology of Marx etc. whereas Hitler was all about the genocide. Stalin et. al. were not communists or socialists in practice. Hitler and the Nazis were what they had always planned to be. All I did was give you too much credit and assumed you'd be aware of the differences.

FYI: The U.S. Republicans and their man Trump are cosy with the current Russian dictator, the murdering Putin. How does that sit?

Ah I see, you're brand of murderous fascists are cool, the other brand are not.

I'll try and get over it

Who the Republicans and their man Trump cosy up with has nothing to do with me, I'm not American, I don't vote there, thats how that sits.

Marx was not a murdering fascist. Hitler was.

Do or don't it's fine with me.

So you don't care about the protesters with hammer and sickles, not sure why you brought it up.

The flag of the Soviet Union had the hammer and sickle too, I care about calling out the hypocrisy. Anyone who waves either of those flags is obviously a wa***r, but you guys seem to think one is fine

Again with the calling people fascists, who clearly aren’t.

There’s no point in engaging anyone here anymore. It’s just repeated nonsense

The swastika stands for Nazism. The hammer and sickle is more associated with communism and the U.S.S.R. and I would say both, (hammer and sickle/swastika) are carried for their ideology otherwise we'd see posters with Stalin/Hitler on them.
So yeah, I'm cool with a communist/marxist flag over a Nazi one.

It seems like I have missed nothing in the month I have been banned. Still going around in circles, still prodding each other to get a reaction. I think it's come to a stage where I think both sides should just accept that the other won't/can't agree or see it from their side.

This is an easy one to walk away from.

    Best of luck.

well at least you are not even pretending that you are not a facist.

You know though with an ageing population many of us may end up having to do that. Even you Blueshoe.

Il pay someone to wipe mine with the money I saved not paying taxes which keep a bloated, lazy public sector afloat. Don't even get me started on the amount thrown into the social welfare budget.

No it does. It's fascist apologists tend to say that or racists who say 'racism' has lost all meaning. It's handy to censor or dismiss words when you find your team fitting the definition.
Fascism (/ˈfæʃɪzəm/) is a form of far right-wing, authoritarian ultranationalism characterized by dictatorial power, forcible suppression of opposition, and strong regimentation of society and of the economy which came to prominence in early 20th-century Europe.

    Sound like the Alt-Right/Trump brigade.
Theres as much if not more Alt-Right folk complaining about, well, others complaining about inequality, like equality hurts them some how. Coincidentally these Alt-Right folk tend to be in the same piss bucket as billionaires and multinationals.

That's the definition of the word.

Using it at every opportunity makes it meaningless. I don't like your opinion = release the word

I have no reply to your comment = lash out the word

    It means nothing

You said it lost all meaning. It hasn't. You might think some are incorrectly labelled Facist. That's fair enough. There is a drive from some quarters to dismiss words like 'racist'. It works out great for racists. For example; 'Hey that guy is a racist', "yeah but that could mean anything. I like his orange face. I'll vote for him".

Throwing the word out daily at anyone who disagrees with your opinion belittles the word and makes it empty. Means nothing. So when one of the creatures on here calls me one or the other it means nothing to me.
Save it for real racists and facists. We can all unite against them.

Sure Sargon of Akkad was called a right wing extremist earlier. Hyperbolic bollocks. I'm a racist and a fascist because I think Proud Boys and Trump are better than Antifa.

Who is throwing it around? Who is judging when you can or cannot?
The people marching in Charlottesville certainly were IMO.

So it's your call is it? You are censoring free speech because you disagree. 'Perpetually outraged' is trying to demean opinions you don't like. No free speech unless its speech you like?

Antifa has a violent element as does practically any large movement. That doesn't take away from the fight against the Alt-right, their deluded lackies or racists like Trump and the Proud Boys.

I can read what you have written and dismiss the whole post as rubbish. Like water off a ducks back. Your opinion is irrelevant to me. Your words are empty.

You can also do the same with mine.

Again I say ignore the perpetually outraged. Irrelevant.
It's not censorship. It's ignoring everything you say.

I've seen absolutely zero proof that the proud boys are a racist group.

Ad hominems from the guy who called Sargon of Akkad an extremist.

Cheers Brian. But instead of thank whoring, how about telling me why you think the Proud Boys as a group are racist.

Carl Benjamin is a right week extremist. I wrote a pretty decent defence of this position, which you never replied to. You chose to bide your time and take cheap shots instead.

Carl Benjamin an extremist wow u truly you haven't a clue what your waffling on about. How can you call Carl Benjamin an extremist but be so defensive of antifa a violent group that actually actively attack and want to kill people.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,177 ✭✭✭Ironicname

An extremist is someone who holds "extreme" views (although that is totally subjective)

I suppose it would be ok to call anyone who believes that it is ok for people to self id when it comes to the trans issue as a Transgender extremist?

Or pro choice advocates. Are they Abortion extremists?

What is "extreme" exactly when referring to ideals or values Brian?

He ran for government with UKIP a party who's own founder Nigel Farage quit because he said they had become too extremist and racist even for him. They hired tommy robinson as an advisor.

Who do antifa want to kill?

    A definition of political extremism.
Sounds like ukip and the proud boys.

Government's Counter Extremism Strategy, 2015: ' Extremism is the vocal or active opposition to our shared values. These include democracy and the rule of law, mutual respect and tolerance of other faiths and beliefs.

Nice try. But that wasn't the response I was talking about. I put a link up to rational wiki

Again. I told you already I don't view the term extremist as a pejorative. This is going in circles. I have answered all of this at least twice. You either didn't read the responses or are ignoring them.
