    Ok lads, which is it?

If you are you saying it's a white power symbol WHEN a known white supremacist uses it to signal white supremacy, I'm ok with that.

If it is a case that you are calling people white supremacists FOR using it despite it being widely recognised as a symbol to signal OK or to make fun of people who believe in white supremacy conspiracy theories, then I have an issue.

What evidence other than a hand signal which is not inherently racist, do you have that the guy in the Navy is a white supremacist?

When the likes of Richard Spencer and the Christchurch shooter use it and you still don't accept it as real, there really isn't any hope for you.

Do you seriously not know the circle game? The Christchurch shooter, for reasons best known to himself, made many pop culture references. Some, like the circle game and pewdiepie were hopped on as being related to white supremacy, while others, like doing the floss and Spyro the dragon were not. He might be having a good laugh about it - it seems to be the reaction he was hoping for. Richard Spencer doesn't seem to be the brightest, so that would fit.

Edit: that photo of Richard Spenser is just him giving the okay sign by the looks of it. Even the definition that you give says that it must be upside down. Becuase when it's upside down and below the belt it's the circle game, and as we all know, both the floss and circle game are white supremacist things.

    It's Monty Pythonesque.

Besides starting on a site notorious for racism, misogyny, fascism and antisemitism.
Besides been spread by members of that site.
Besides being used by far right people.
Besides being used by a mass killer after killing 50 people.
Besides the ALU designating it a hate symbol in certain circumstances
Besides all the newspaper, radio and tv articles about it.

Besides all that what is the proof the ok sign is being used to signal white supremacy?

Signal white supremacy?.. Are you for real?.. Would you listen to yourself..

You love to pretend you’re clever, but there’s nothing clever about this.

You know full well what the “soy-boy” stereotype used by the alt right is. I know you do because it’s you go to insult for those you disagree with. Then when challenged on it you play the innocent.

It’s the same modus operandi the alt right love to employ. Nazi salutes- we’re doing it as a joke. Co opting the upside upside down ok symbol- we’re doing it to troll the left.

It’s infantile. It would be laughable, but it leads too many gullible idiots to the extreme right. Like you.

You're pontificating that a gesture is a sign relating to white supremacy. One that has been around for decades. This shows how vulnerable and mentally inept you are.

    Certain circumstances. Exactly.

Continue getting worried about a hand gesture that has multiple meanings and only ever attribute the bad meanings to people you don't like.

    Jesus Christ.

    Definitely.

That is without a doubt, a sign that shows that white supremacists are everywhere.

    End of conversation.

I said nothing about white supremacists. I've seen the video and it looked like a bunch of kids clowning around. Somebody mentioned a circle game, which I've never heard of, but it could be that.

My point though is that whatever they are doing, it's not the typical 'ok' sign. Nobody makes the ok sign like that, so I don't get why people keep saying it's just the ok sign.

    ...

Y'all are an embarrassment to liberalism, and any white power jackass who thinks it's a white power symbol is even more of an idiot.

You seem intent on disparaging any use of, nae outraged at the very idea...
Calm yourself. The whole point of it is that it can be used by them and they love having people like yourself dismiss it. It's mostly brats, but a white power symbol depending on circumstance nonetheless.

You do realise that your outrage is what fuels these trends/memes ? People like Spencer and them also exist in the same Zeitgeist and see these trends/memes poking fun at the leftists, then see your reactions to them and see it as an opportunity to join in on the joke ?
Some probably do see it as a white supremacist symbol but they are losers on the fringes of society, its like saying anyone who wears Hugo Boss is a Nazi sympathiser or anyone with a bald head is a racist Skinhead its total pearl clutching overreaction.

Why join in on a "joke" that symbolises white supremacists though?
    Maybe avoid that "joke".

The Navy are investigating they must be losers on the fringes of society, also the mainstream media. Everyone knows how it would be seen so why do it. Spreading fascism to "own the libs" self defeating.

What outrage? I'm sipping a cup of tae ;)
Why do people always infer outrage when they hear an opposing opinion? Don't be so sensitive.
You are missing the point, which others have made, it's using a seemingly innocent and accepted symbol because they can, the context is key. I can't believe folk like our pal Randomname2 are so naive to not be aware, let along argue against it. Thanks to Trump the roaches are creeping out from behind the toilet and TBF there are likely more of them simply spoiled brats thinking it's cool, but they are not merry pranksters they are no different than homophobes calling people 'bum boys' pretending it's no more than larks.
So FYI: it is a thing, but context is key.

The Christchurch killer was infiltrated by the far left. The true identity of the Christchurch killer is a comrade of our anti-fascist pro-communist group which bravely sacrificed themselves for their comrades. The objective was to heighten conspiracy and spread fear, that white supremacy is now in power showing great threat, a hand gesture that has been in western society for decades was cleverly turned upside down and attributed to that of a sign used by white supremacist groups while surfing 4chan for source material. Our brave comrade bravely sacrificed themselves for this mission and the cause. Anything that can be attributed to white sys males must be destroyed for the greater good (The greater good).

See how pathetic and juvenile that reads? That's how your delusions are presented. DISCLAIMER: The above was satirical

Boss, you are making the excuse that we should ignore people making white supremacist symbols, because we might look like big ejits. It's not selling.
A troll making such a symbol in that manner is no better than a scumbag racist using it with intent.

    WTF is that?
Did you just make it up?

No time to distinguish if someone is an actual nazi or just being satirical either way not a good thing.
Maybe the 4chan brigade should find another "joke". If they were really doing it to wind people up they would claim to be communists, looking at the /pol/ page they sure seem far right and racist.
